My new build

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 12:20 am

I decided I'm going to make three characters thief, Mage and warrior and not go out of there color on the skill wheel. So for instance my thief could only spend perks in.

Alchemy, light armor, lock picking, pick pocket, speech and sneak.

Also going to do no fast travel, I can use carriage only but no fast traveling. Also I'm not going to be saving then reloadin if I fail a pick pocket and going to try this on master to start.

This will also make it so I can't abuse the enchanting, blacksmith, alchemy since each character can only use one. I still plan on using blacksmith and enchanter but no perks can be spent outside my 6.

Alchemy is wonderful, and can cover just about any weakness in a build.
No one handed perks? Poisons, fortify one handed, fortify stamina regeneration.
Need to cast a spell with no perks? Fortify magicka.
Sneak not high enough yet? Invisibility.
Equipment not keeping up with enemies? Fortify smithing, fortify enchanting.
Coupled with speechcraft, so vendors can actually afford the potions you make but won't use, that pure thief can do just about anything, just requires preparation.
The other two archetypes have more obvious strengths, but the stealth/alchemist may well have more options, and be more fun to play.

Yea the fun thing is reason I'm doing it. I have a thief now that uses archery and it's just not fun anymore, archery with sneak is just unfair to my enemies. With the slow motion perk in archery I can get 5 shot into a enemy before he turns around and those are all sneak attacks. Now my new thief will still use archery for his opponents that are far away but without slow motion and will be more fair.

Also surprised to see alchemy in thief skills I always thought it was Mage but guess not.

That's going to kinda svck while playing the thief... You won't be able to handle combat for crap if you can't spend at least a couple perks in one handed as you won't be doing blacksmithing to enhance your weapons...

Also I don't understand why you see alchemy as mage, assassins tend to use alot of it for poisons... And mages don't have much need of it since they can already heal themselves... Just my point of view on that though...

I plan on taking followers with me in most if not all dungeons and I'll stay hidden. They tend to only attack the guy in open so I will just sneak behind him. I can still improve weapons except magical ones they just won't be as strong unless I have the perk and I can still enchant but they also won't be as strong.

As for alchemy thing I'm old school player and back in day was always the mages making the poisons and assassins buying them. Times are a changing.
