When I go to start a new character the Character Creation Screen where you start by choosing your Race is in German even though Im a English speaker, then anytime I see my characters race displayed it shows it in German not in English. Ive gone through several .ini files and everywhere i have looked the setting are all set to English. This is more of just an irritation since everything else in the Game is English like its supposed to be.

This happened right after the 1.6 patch, I was hoping i could figure it out on my own but any suggestions would be appreciated, really wish the start creation page was in English and not German.

In the Steam window right click on Skyrim and choose Properties. Navigate to the languages tab and select "English".

Thank you for your reply unfortunately I had already tried that, mine already says "English" for that setting. As I said in my first post, the whole game is in English except for the new Character Creation screen for Race.

Where it should say DarkElf it says Dunkelelf, where it should say Orc it says Ork, and the explanation Box for the race is also in German, at least i think its German, its just not in English. Once past the Race Choice its all English, then anytime you load your save game you will see your RaceText in german German Text. ie... when you put your cursor over a save game it shows you a small picture with your characters Name, Race and Level under the pic, that RaceText is in German on my pc.

Everything else is still in English.

Any chance you might have downloaded a mod that changes race names?

Yep that was it...

I removed all my downloaded mods from the data files and lo and behold it works fine, now I will just have to reinstall them 1 at a time to find out which one did it. Thanks for the help.
