My new favorite way of dealing with the Frost Troll on the w

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 10:43 pm

I know many of you know this already, but this is so fun to do I think more people should do this. My new favorite way of dealing with a Frost Troll is to simply jog past him and make him follow you. You have to stop once in a while and wait for the troll a bit or even go back to the troll time to time so that he doesn't lose you. Bring him all the way to High Hrothgar and bring him into the monastery.

The Graybeards are beasts. They are probably the strongest fighters in the whole game. Good thing they are on your side. They will shout ice form and fireball nonstop at the troll until it dies. It's pretty awesome. It's also cool to see angry faces they make when they are fighting.

I have heard about this before but never done it. I'm totally gonna give it a try with my newest PC.

Not the most outstanding first impression for the Dovahkiin to make on the Greybeards, though...

Arngeir: "Well, brothers, we've done our duty and summoned the Dovahkiin. Surely Akatosh has sent us a great hero, perhaps the greatest hero Skyrim's ever known... one who is brave and strong and a worthy student of our esteemed and holy Way. I have no doubt that--"

Dovahkiin: *runs screaming into High Hrothgar*

"There's a troll! A TROLL IN THE MONASTERY!! For the love of Ysmir, KILL IT KILL IT KILL IT KILL IT.... oh gods we're so dead..."

Arngeir: *facepalm*

Either that, or you're Skeptical Dovahkiin, and want to make sure the Greybeards are worth following. Yes, the world-shaking scream of "DO VAH KIIN" notwithstanding.

Edited to reflect my response. Level 15 and haven't been to Riverwood or Whiterun, yet. I have, however, seen most of The Rift and a lot of Eastmarch. As far as my current character knows, only 1 dragon has been seen.

I didn't know it would follow you inside! I'm definitely going to try this. After the first time I just climbed around the rocks to get there so he wouldn't see me.

I know, I'm actually looking forward to making that climb again now. But I guess I'll have to leave Stenvar in Ivarstead, something tells me he will fail to see the potential lulz involved and get all medieval on the critter.
