New Game Bug

Recently, I been playing Fallout: New Vegas on my Xbox 360, however, it RRoD'd and rendered it unplayable. When I overheat it, it works, but will constantly freeze and I have to restart my console. ANYWAYS, this is not about my 360. I began a New Game on my PC version and like usual, I saw the intro cutscene (skipped it) and got up on my bed to see Doc Mitchell. There was no audio for a second (His mouth was moving though) but then it came back. I thought it was just a regular audio lag, and ignored it.

And so, I was asked my name, I gave a typical English name, and he proceeded to talk about how it wasn't what he would've picked for me, and that he had to take bits of lead out of my noggin. Here's where it gets weird. He asks me if he left anything out of place (Chargen face editor), and he just stops. He sits in his chair in front of me, fidgets in it, and doesn't say anything. He just stares at me. The game isn't frozen, it is still going good, but the ingame cutscene is screwed up. "Ok..." I think to myself, as I pause the game and quit to the menu, "This is weird...". But I try again. This time, instead of stopping at the face editing part, it freezes at the VERY beginning, where you're looking up at the fan. My view just sways side to side as I lay in the bed and stare at the fan swishing above my head. "What?"

So, I don't have that many mods, and certainly none that change the intro. I've retried starting a new game a dozen times already. I can't see any reason why this would be happening.


Please, if anyone knows what the issue is, please leave a suggestion.

I've tried disabling all my mods, but that hasn't helped. For now, I'll just use a save I downloaded.

How does the game work vanilla? What mods do you have installed? Are you using archive invalidated?
Try removing the AI.

I am using Archive Invalidation. I've tried disabling all my mods, but that didn't seem to help. Now, it always bugs at the point where he's supposed to say "You been out cold a couple of days now, why don't you just relax a second?"

I don't think turning of AI will do anything, but I guess it's worth a shot. However, I just downloaded a savegame at the start of the game so I could play it already.

The issue is that just disabling your mods doesnt necessarily make them gone since AI causes the data files to be used such as replacers etc. So you need to turn off AI to go back to vanilla with all mods disabled.
