New to game question (Possible Spoilers)

Post » Sat Jun 23, 2012 8:31 am

So I got the game and started and now I am at the main quest where I need 5k gold to proceed for the dragon.

My quest is that I am level 6 and going fighter/warrior 2h and 1h with Shield and most mobs are too hard to kill in the area
I have a guide that shows all quest but I am feeling over whelmed and was looking for some guidance as I am used to more straight path games.
Any help or tips would be good

Wait, 5k gold? I haven't played the main quest in a while, but I don't remember that. I do know Whiterun's house is 5k though, in case there's some confusion there.

You don't need to buy the house.

Like said above you don't need to buy the house. However I can understand if you want to, as it's a great house to have, especially early on. What I recommend is going through Whiterun and talking to every NPC you can find. Some will have job offers for you, this is a great way to make a little coin at first. It doesn't go up fast, but it does give you money. If you find bandits and kill them, take their stuff. The money you can earn by selling it is usually greater then the money you earn for killing them.

if you have done all the quests go to the tavern and say you are looking for work, usually they will give you a new quest where you will have to kill some leveled bandits. This is great for XP and great for money.

Also, if you are having a hard time fighting the bandits and you have already killed the first dragon then take Lydia with you. She's your housecarl and capable of at the very least distracting your enemies while you recover and at best killing a few of them. Sure this will mean you earn less XP, but you can make more money by killing more people. You can also get her to carry stuff for you if you are carrying to much.

First of all, Welcome to the forums, here have a http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg
Secondly, you dont need any gold to kill the Dragon, and its not even that hard as long as you take your time. Let the guards do the dirty work. Once he's dead, you'll get Lydia. She's a follower and will help you along for the bandit raids.
Remember, the more you kill, the better you'll get. Just save often before battles and watch your health.
Happy hunting!
