New hair styles in New Vegas

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:50 am

I'm wondering if there will be more hairstyle options in new Vegas than there were in F3? I got pretty tired of only having one decent hairstyle option for a female character (Wendy the Welder) unless I wanted her to look like June Cleaver, a man, or a Raider. I understand that the 50's hairstyles and the raider look both fit with the storyline, but please, give me some options!

The amount of choices was fine. Not really a need for more.

Like I said, the choices were fine if you wanted to look like a Raider or a 50's housewife, but other than that your only choices were mens hairstyles and Wendy the Welder.

Please, don't make the same mistake Mass Effect 2 did of just recycling the same hairstyles.

Well, I liked using the smooth wave hairstyle, so I was content with that. It made me look suave B)

Keep in mind that they are still adding to the game, you may not see something new because in those videos, they are showing the GAMEPLAY and the STORYLINE and the WEAPONS they were working on, they are not going to show the HAIRSTYLES first I mean, what they're going to a huge game festival in europe and they're going to broadcast they have new hairstyles!?

This game is definetly in dire need of more choice concerning character creation. Not just about the hair styles, but about CC as a whole.

Creating an Fo3 character for the first time was simple. The facial changes you could do would make little to no difference at all, which was discovered quickly, but still was kind of stupid. I say kind of, but I mean REALLY stupid. What's the point of having these choices if there's no difference at all in your character's face? I could go on, but nah.

So about the hairstyles... as the OP states, the hair variants you have to choose between are really terrible, especially if you like playing as a female character(Guilty!)
We definetly need MUCH more to choose of in NV, and they shouldn't limit themselves to 1950 abouts styles. They should take hairstyles from all over the world, from whatever timelines, including today.
It might be a minor issue for some, but it really isn't as enjoyable if you can't have everything the way it suits you, even in such a minor scale.

Well if they didn't add anything new I guess I'll be sticking with my Blastback Hair and Goatee, but in all honesty I would like some more types of hair styles/facial hair styles as they really did feel rather limiting or were just clones or very slight variations of each other (Especially the facial hair) I'm the type who loves as much customization as I can get. Nothing at all wrong with having options. :tops:

This. The hair styles in oblivion are varied enough to have many different options.

So more hair options but no more facial hair options...hmmm...so let's halfway gimp character creation yes!

No it's just annoying to scroll through, and look at, like 100 beards/mustaches, to find one that looks okay. Also, they cant really add much more to the facial hair list. They've done almost everything in FO3, and about half of them look the same.

I agree, pretty much all the male hairstyles in 3 were very stylistic and follow a very specific theme. Or looked stupid

And the massive list of facial hair was kind of lame. I remember Todd Howard boasted about their facial hair options, but they were all almost exactly the same.

I hope they give us more options that make us look better.

I don't get this kind of attitude. Why would anybody want an option made any less extensive than it already is in Fallout 3?

I would love more hairstyles, both for men and women. There were close to no mods for Fallout 3 that added hairstyles for men that didn't make your character have long hair or look like an anime character.
Another thing that need to improve is clipping. I want to wear a bandana with the waster hairstyle and not have part of the hair stick through the bandana. I mean, over the bandana is fine, but through it? Come on.

Things that need to be fixed.
- a goatee that doesn't make you look like Ed "Too Tall" Jones
- stubble that doesn't look like your PC tried use a Shishkebab to shave
- A Chinstrap that is skinny but not "[censored] Strap" Skinny
- LONG MALE HAIR (Like my avatar ^^)
- SIDEBURNNNNNS
