Truthfully i hope they don't pull the family card kids/wife BS. its really a lazy way to motivate someone the only reason i could forgive fallout 3 was the whole project purity idea that made it work.

But yeah if that rumor was true i would be pretty pissed and just let Ulysses keep my family.

I dont think its the couriers wife and kids more like his/hers brothers sisters and parents as ulysess is meant to be the couriers lover,

Sad to say he could still keep em id just have to go to Mr.House and get a restraining order.

Really don't like the lover idea either, id prefer something like we were gang leaders or something.

I'm sorry, but I am pretty confident that this is a crock of B.S. Not only would it absolutely ruin the backstories that some people have made for their character, but it is just a bad concept and this "source" is like "so this guy I know saw this thing and...". It is like the "character returning from Fallout 3" rumor. It really isn't credible.

But what the article is implying is Ulysess set up the character to get shot which is hinted at in the main game etc ''No no let courier 6 take the package''

Personaly I'd get much more out of it if they did involve family or community in some way. The whole "Shot in the head but got better" realy dosen't do it for me. If it wasn't part of the main quest I'd just stayed away from benny all together. I have more fun when I have something to protect or save then just personal vendetta.

I really like how the Main Stroy of New Vegas isn't like a drama. It's more about a big conflict that you are just a part of. Many games, like FO3's stories are all centered around the character and not the world around them.

This sounds so unprofessional. I wouldn't believe it if Obsidian announced that themselves. Not hating but if your a male player you get to be homosixual lovers with some guy with dreads? This guys like "Ya this other journalist told me he saw this himself. I believe him because we all gotta follow the bro code and not lie to each other." I also must have missed something in all that. All I read were things I already knew from playing the game..

No way Ulysses is going to be an ex-lover of the Courier, that forces you into a certain sixual orientation, doesn't make any sense.

I call BS.

Unfortunately, many gamers are not comfortable with the idea of homosixuality, and there's no way Obsidian would shoot themselves in the foot by forcing male characters to have had a gay lover; the backlash would be intense.

Plus, that forces your character into a certain backstory, which svcks for people who like to RP.

Uslyess might be Male/Female depending on your charcter's gender kinda like how in Fallout 3 your dad adjusts to being whatever race you choose.

Ulysses is clearly male. Referred as one and that card of his.

Well first off , him being referred to as male means nothing as when describing a genderless object/person/item he is used naturally but I dunno bout the card you got me there

It appears that the Courier did have a back story that was cut along with Ulysses; Avellone said it was very difficult to remove Ulysses because he was a large aspect of the game.
Traditionally, Fallout PCs have a fairly detailed back story; New Vegas was the exception, but it's starting to look like it was a consequence of time and planning, rather than a deliberate choice.
It svcks for RPers, true.

The courier was not necessarily supposed to have a backstory. Even so with the upcoming DLC with Ulysses, it is possible for him to be a figure in the couriers past that seemed insignificant to the courier at the time he was involved with him, and that wouldn't break any backstory (unless you are roleplaying that your Fallout 3 character and New Vegas character are the same).

I hope this isn't true as that would eliminate a lot of 1st person Roleplaying.
