There's stuff we already know about, but the first page contains a few new spoilers. They're not major, but you might prefer to see them in the game yourself.

I apologise if none of the info is actually new, but I've never seen it.

In the case of Camp Searchlight, Caesar's Legion managed to sneak a nuclear device into the base, thereby turning once-loyal NCR soldiers into mindless, feral ghouls.

Does that mean it is now considered lore to turn people into ghouls in the matter of minutes/hours/days? It usually took several months to years.

I could accept that (after all, the fact that one could turn into a ghoul quickly was made canon by Fallout 3) but why did they automatically turn into feral ghouls? And how could the Legion be sure about that? I'm waiting about knowing more about the quest and from a more reliable source than MTV Multiplayer though.

Who knows? I mean, Bethesda did it with Moira Brown, and I thought it was wrong.

When they say nuclear device, do they mean a bomb, or just something giving out radiation? If the latter, then it could have taken a few years, but the NCR didn't realise.

In any case, I think this Camp Searchlight sounds like an interesting place, and I can't wait to visit it. Maybe it'll be the Dunwich Building of New Vegas?

I think it depends where you are in relation to the blast, but it looks like Simultaneous Ghoulification is possible.

The closer one is to the blast = quicker ghoulification, provided that you survive the blast somehow.

Like I didn't know that. It's stupid and lore breaking, in my opinion. If it's been said everywhere else that it takes several months to several years to become a "full ghoul", one does not just turn into a ghoul in a few minutes, she should have died or turned into a ghould a in-game year later.

Well, I was hoping that Moira was just a mistake that Bethesda (and Obsidian) still had a chance to remedy.

Yeah, because so far they also made Ghouls just like humans, only resistant to radiation, actually healing them, and being immortal. Think of it, they are just as fast and good in combat as humans, not the slow, fragile, shambling zombies who can't use a gun because their fingers has fallen off/grown together like in the other Fallouts. Next up there will be mecha-ghouls, I tell you!!!11

We don't know for how long the NCR and Legion have been battling each other, wouldn't jump to conclusions about ghoulification there. Besides, they are all ferals, which means destruction of their tissues has been very fast. Would be slightly more comfortable with that than Moira's fate.
Otherwise, nice to see the real places.

To me that felt more like a quick excuse someone made up to allow you to continue her quest after doing 'that', not something that is supposed to be canon.

I don't like the idea of instant ghoulification myself.

I'm with you there. I fully expected that quest line to be sacrificed when I blasted Megaton.... Then I get there and bump into Ghoira and I'm thinking: What? Really?

Oh well... I guess it's their product now...l If they want instant ghouling, they're gonna do it... I want new Fallout games so I havta svck it up and live with the changes.

Um moira instantly turned into something LOOKING like a ghoul. Full ghoulification as it was said repeatedly in fo3 takes time. Becoming feral tho doesnt always take time all it takes is your brain melting due to high enough radiation exposure.

Does it say how long ago CL did that?

They could've had like a radiation machine or something (remember science! not science) and just trapped them there for a couple of months with the machine and had them turn into ghouls the machine however would turn off after a few days or so because you only wanted the right amount of radiation instead of just killing them.

In response to earlier posts: Moira wasnt technically said to be a ghoul. Ghouls are formed by radiation, she simply got her face blow off. If you were close to an atomic expolosion, with only rocks for cover, your face would get a little bit rearranged too.

the legion probably used a dirt bomb

4 those of u that dont know wat a dirty bomb is its a small bomb sometimes even a artillery shell straqed to spent fuel rods that when its blown it gives of alot of radiation but only a very small explosion.
