New NPC face colour mismatch... fixed yet?

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 8:14 pm

Hey guys I was wondering if the face colour mismatch when making new NPCs has been fixed yet?

Also if not do you simply have to hit ctrl+f4 to make facegen data, or do you have to go through the rigmarole of making it an esm then changing it back to an ESP?

Thanks :)

Also if you do have to generate facegen data, does that then get uploaded to steam with the mod? Or do you have to manually make a BSA when it asks?

The new NPC colour mismatch problem has been fixed (and fixed for some time, but I only found this out within the last couple of weeks, as the fact it has been fixed does not seem to have been widely publicised). You still need to generate the facegen data with ctrl-f4, but no need to faff around with esmifying or making masters just to put your new NPCs in. I've no idea if the CK packs the facegen data you've generated into the archive which gets uploaded (I always hand-bake my BSAs with BSAopt).

Thanks for the reply mate. If you have to make your own BSA, how do you upload it to steam? Because steam just uploads the project doesn't it.

When you come to upload your mod, if the CK notices that there is already a BSA with the same name as your plugin in your data directory, it will ask if you want to use that. At least, this is what it did when I uploaded my mod.

Does this fix apply to existing npc's you've duplicated and edited only or also newly created actors?

Probably mate, if I change an npcs hair style for example, I need to generate facegen data or the face skin is dodgy.
