thank you for all of the advice i really appreciate it, i am sure i will return with plenty more questions.
oh yeah and i am sure i will get laughed at for this, BUT i cant afford a flat screen TV, paying 500 bucks for a 40 inch isnt my idea of a good time
i am using a old tube tv 36 inch, will this ruin my game play?

P.S. i dont want to buy a 32 inch for 300 bucks either
they are too expensive for me to afford, sorry but i am not rich

I prefer CRTs actually. My preferred screen is a 19" CRT monitor. I think those old tvs look nice, they give you a nice bright, vibrant picture and nice dark shadows and blacks. The only problem is the resolutions makes reading text next to impossible. You might be having trouble with the basics because of that.

Are you still having trouble running? On the xbox you go from walking to running by pushing the left stick further forward. I would assume the PS3 is the same.

My general advice, other than muck around with a test character and then start again, is to go to one of the cities and get to know it really well before moving on. It's easy to feel overwhelmed... there's just so much stuff, you don't know what to do or where to go. So just concentrate on one area, talk to everyone there, explore everwhere, hit a couple of nearby dungeons. And then when you're ready move out and explore the world. Don't be in a hurry to run off and do the main quest or anything. Take your time.

I don't know how to drop items on the PS3 but to sell them you go to a merchant in one of the towns. Talk to the guy behind the counter and ask what he has to sell (assuming you can read it, if not you'll just have to go through the options).

I agree on the manual and miss the OB game manual, plenty of toilet reading there :P

If you're lost from the start then maybe this is not the game for you...it's a deep open world game that is highly enjoyable once you realize how it works though. It's not linear so don't go crazy when you have 50 quests all active at tge same time, most aren't related to each other and can be done at your own pace
