New smithing perk

I think it would be nice to add a perk to smithing that allowed us to sometimes mine two pieces of ore at once.

It's possible to get up to three pieces from one vein, though very rare. Kolskeggr was actually the inspiration for this thread. I also came out with 48 pieces. But while I was mining it would just say Gold Ore added. I want to be able to get 2 pieces at once.

Just thought it would be a cool perk.

you actually get 3 pieces of ore per patch, its just that the one piece doesnt give a notification, it does how ever make a sound you mine it

Ah. Then I guess it's getting the notification that's rare, haha.

Question about mining:
I carry a pickaxe with me everywhere, but also come across shovels. Has anyone actually found a use for the shovels?

None so far for me. I think they are just there for looks. Just like brooms. (unless you find the broom dungeon)

I don't really think this perk would be needed all that much, there is a ton of mines around Skyrim and most of them have a lot of ore in themmm.

True, but when you are trying to level up smithing, jewelry is now the most viable. And that requires gold, and lots of it. This perk would just help out a bit.

Dual wield two pick axes and attack the ore. There you go. It actually works.

In Halted Stream Camp, you can get 52 iron ore from 16 ore deposits. That's my favorite mining spot for iron ore.

If smithing needs anything, it's more light armor options, and not force those who want to specialize in light armor to have to pick up steel armor.

One word: transmute. There you go, gold is now as plentiful as iron, and it won't send your alteration skill through the roof either :)

Well you can dig holes with them :teehee:

But you only use them when smelting ore, also if you don't have one in you inventory. So they are useless.
