A friend purchased this game for me and I must say it is quite amazing!
I made myself a red guard and am focusing on one handed weapons.

Can you guys please give me tips on how best to go about leveling my guy?

Also I have level 30 smithing but can't seem to upgrade my elven armor, what am I doing wrong?

Is your armor enchanted? Is it already upgraded? Do you have refined moonstone?

Just play the game and explore. Use whatever skills you find interesting to use, and when you decide which skills are your favourites, perk them.

You'll need to have the Elven crafting perk to upgrade it beyond +50%, the right raw materials, and ensure the armor isn't enchanted (enchanted armor uses the enchanted perk in the tree, and you need to be 60 to get it)

Look at your smithing skill tree, if your armor is enchanted, your have to spend a perk to be able to upgrade enchanted armor. If its not enchanted, try buying refined moonstone from a shopkeeper. Welcome to the forums.

Thank you for the quick replies. Didn't know about the enchanted skill tree as I "think" my armor is enchanted. ( at work so can't go look lol ) I'll be sure to check in the AM. Again thanks guys
