I will start with some of the first simple questions..How do you enable screenshots in Skyrim?
#1. Do u have to change a value in the. ini file somewhere to enable screenshots (like u used to have to do in some previous (ES) Elder Scroll games?) or now that Skyrim is a game on Steam is that already taken care of by Steam?
#2. What if your computer or laptop keyboard already has designated a separate key as a screenshot key than F12 and your F12 key is your lit up Internet Key straight from the manufacturer and so your F12 key cannot be remapped for taking screenshots?
#3. If and when u have been able to successfully take screenshots where will they be saved to on your computer and how do you choose if to save them there or on steam or both places?
As far as I have seen, the only way to take screenshots (excluding using print screen individually), is via Steam. You can map any keyboard key via Steam to use as the screenshot key. To do so:
1) Open up the main Steam window.
2) On the very top menu, click 'View'; and then from the drop-down menu, click 'Settings'.
3) Go to the 'IN-GAME' tab on the top.
4) Under "Screenshot shortcut keys", you'll see a box. Just click in that box and then press the keyboard key that you want to use to take a screenshot.
This could be any key you choose, not just limited to the F keys
To find your screenshots folder:
1) You must have at least taken one screenshot in Skyrim/other Steam game already.
2) From the main Steam window, go to 'View' on the top, and then 'Screenshots' from the drop-down menu.
3) The screenshots panel open up. On the bottom of it, you'll see a button named, "Show on Disk". Click that and it opens up the folder where it stores your screenshots.
Hope this was clear and helped!
