New Update on Steam

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:46 pm

A new update is available on Steam. We are still working on another update that contains additional fixes and changes and will update you soon on that.

Make sure you have this update when playing Dead Money.

After purchasing and downloading Dead Money, Steam initially attempted to download the entire 7 gigs of the game again, even though it was fully installed. Verifying the integrity of the game cache (under "Properties > Local Files") seems to have fixed this, so that only the newly updated files are being downloaded.

It tried to do the same for me. Would've taken 5 hours. :|

Seriously????? The update is 6,919.6 MEGABYTES!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you friggin' kidding??? Most of the population have a MONTHLY limit of only 5 Gigabyte... Why? Just exactly WHY did you make an update almost 7 Gigabytes???? On my broadband it will take over 8 HOURS!!! (It would be impossible on dial up)

You boys dropped the ball on this game. And you dropped it again when you pulled this stunt. Your dedicated fan base, including myself are getting really tired of the stupid s$%t. You know what stupid s$%t leads to? Loss of sales!!! That's right, we stop buying the games, even if we want it so bad.

Here is an idea. Whomever had the notion, concept or whatever you wish to call it, to make this game playable ONLY under registration of an online account, FIRE THAT IDIOT!!!!! You amassed how much profit on Fallout 3 with the addons??? Now, what will the setback on this blunder be?

Just in case you don't understand what I'm saying, let's review YOUR post... "

WOW... In other words, here is literally another WHOLE GAME to PATCH the piece of s$%t we previously released and guess what??? We didn't even this patch right and will have to patch the patch as well! Oh yeah, and you can't just download the patch from our server (which would enable you to save the patch in case of data loss, you MUST download through an online service at a much, much, MUCH slower speed..."

Bethesda, you just screwed the pooch and it's a Rotweiler.

Good grief. I am a fan of Steam, but installing this DLC is proving to be a right dog's dinner. I bought it more than 2 hours ago and I haven't got to play it yet, due to Steam messing about, trying to download the entire game again (thankfully I saw this thread earlier, and was able to stop it before it went too far), and now it's reacquiring some files after I verified the cache, which were apparently fine when I was playing the game this afternoon.

Honestly I've downloaded and installed overhaul mods and complete conversion mods for games and had them running faster than this! Not impressed. Looking forward to playing the DLC though, just probably not tonight now...
