Got my collectors edition guide pre-ordered, just wondered what everyone else had in mind. :foodndrink:

Amen. I've said it before, I'll say it again: free, no last-minute errors caused by last-minute game changes after it's gone to press, updated when patches change things rather than becoming increasingly inaccurate as time goes on.

Sure The Vault will take time to be complete for Fallout New Vegas, but its updated after release and before release, except for the occasional troll article, the Vault has never steered me wrong yet.

having a guide just takes all the fun out of the game, gotta head through the wastes an find out things for myself theres no surprises when you have a guide layin everything out for you

If a game guide follows with the CE I ordered I'll get that. Otherwise The Vault is my sole source for F:NV info. Save this board

I usually buy the guide after about 4-5 plays-through the game, both to support the franchise and to help reveal anything I've missed. I like the maps they include, but I refuse to use a strategy guide to help me beat the game itself - that takes the adventure out of it!

Using a guide would defeat the purpose of exploring. It's more fun to find everything on your own.

If I run in to anything problem I can not solve on my own, I will use the vault, or do a Google search. I se no reason to pay for a strategy guide for any game.

I am frugal, OK, I am cheap. I don't buy a lot of game guides as I can usually figure it out on my own. If not, the Web has the answer somewhere.

However as I stated in my other post in the thread I closed, I like reading the Printed Word. I am getting the CE anyway, well, because it is the CE Edition. I will enjoy the game guide that comes with it, but only after I have played a few times. That way I can figure out what I have missed. Nothing else, it makes a nice library book.

This is one of the few games I would even consider buying the guide for. With that said, my intentions were not to read/enjoy the guide to it's full extent UNTIL I have a few playthroughs under my belt. $23 is a small price to pay for an extra guide to a game in the Fallout series that will, unfortunately, only come along so often. And like you said, great book to have if nothing else. Extra Fallout goodness never fails to please :fallout: :rock:

That's what the Vault is. It's the name of the Fallout wiki. I love using the Vault. There's no bit of information you can't find there. It makes finding all the incredibly well hidden goodies much easier to find and it also helps me strategize a little when I really need help with an enemy.
