do you like any of the new weapons? if so, what?

Myself:
Police Pistol: Shootin' evil doers with old world style
HoloRifle: A scoped energy handcannon of pure vaporization power and a Dam that bypasses 3 inch titanium. whats not to love?

Edit: Not to mention the Police Pistol is a holdout weapon :D

the holorifle with the attachment that adds 25 damage with the meltdown perk makes this dlc so much easier

The Holorifle is better than the Gauss Rifle IMO.
It's damage is just ridiculous with Max Charge ammo and it's faster to reload and shoot with than Gauss Rifle.
Gauss Rifle is also LOUD, Holorifle is way better to sneak attack with.

So, better damage. (I can pull off 4 shots before I can pull off 2 Gauss Rifle shots.)
Faster reload speed.
Quieter.
Uses 1 MFC compared to Gauss' 4 MFC. (It's more economical to use Holorifle since you spend less Max Charge than you do with Gauss.)

It's downside is that the projectile is "a little" like plasma weapons, meaning it's a little slow, but still faster than plasma projectiles.

The Knife Spear is making me question my innate disdain of the Melee skill.

The Cosmic Knife... well, I only like it because I saw one of the ad boards around and thought it was funny. Makes me want to run around brandishing the thing whilst wearing the Space Suit and helmet.

The Assault Rifle and Police Pistol. What can I say? I love Guns.

The police pistol is a good replacement for the .357 revolver. Doesn't do quite as much damage per shot, but the speed-loader makes up for it in my opinion. The automatic rifle (inspired by the B.A.R., I'm guessing?) is cool, but you hardly get any ammo for it during the DLC, and .308 rounds seem a little pricey for a full-auto weapon. No opinion on the holorifle, as I'm not an energy weapon person.

Now if only the dlc gave halfas much EW ammo as normal guns...

I was so disappointed when I brought my fully modded Holorifle back to the Mojave only to discover that it creates ash piles. (For some reason, not against ghost people) Since I'm not a fan of having piles of ash and goo that NEVER disappear from the game, I guess I'll have to store it for now...

The Super Heated and or Clean Cosmic knife both look really cool and I am glad to finnaly have a reliable source for throwing weapons. Halorifles good and The Automatic rifle is BAR none (get it?) I only wish they had added in a new shotgun...

ash piles domnt actualy last forever. sooner or later an area does a complete reset and EVERYTHING gets reset and all the ash piles and oozes go away. Also at least on the pc version ash pileas and ozze no longer effect the critters they wewre made from.. in other words they still respawn and have correct loot and everything.

The BAR rocks. Can't wait to get back to the Mojave because I have about 900 .308 JSP rounds in my home in Novac. I had been using them in This Machine but now I think I might have to switch to the BAR. Funny how two of my favorite guns are from WWII.

A reliable source of throwing weapons?

Does that extend into the Mojave after finishing DM?

You can trade cigarettes and pre-war clothing for sierra madre chips which you can trade in for the throwing knifespear IIRC. (Haven't found the code for it yet though.)
