New wife for Chief Larak

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 6:57 am

Okay, while I was mapping out the voice files, I came across references in the Orc dialogue to a female Orc NPC named Uglarz who (apparently) returns to Mor Khazgur to be Chief Larak's wife (remember, he is the Orc chief with four dead wives and two aunts who run his life). The dialogue contains language indicating the PC must convince her to rejoin the stronghold (i.e. mini-quest).

Well, I can't find any reference to Uglarz ANYWHERE on the interwebs, and days spent in the stronghold have produced no dialogue options. Am I missing something here? Or is this just the tattered ends of a removed quest? UESP Wiki just has a placeholder page, and no other source even mentions her.

I've run into named corpses in my travels that I didn't kill. They were wandering around and maybe got killed by wildlife or bandits.

PS: never ran into this quest.

I came across this stronghold just yesterday, and felt like I was missing a quest as well. I didn't run into Uglarz, but based on the pvssyr in the stronghold about Larak having bad luck with wives, and the graves, I thought there must be an associated misc quest. Couldn't get anything to trigger through, so I eventually gave up.

Perhaps this quest comes in a DLC.

Well, I've mapped out a dozen different voices, and this is the only thing I've found that's not in the game. There's reference to it in maleorc and femaleorc (err, kinda obviously that). Hmmm... where's the CK?

Crap, it's not LARAK of Mor Khazgur, it's MAUHULAKH of Narzulbur that has no wives. The fact that no one else caught that prolly means that no one cares about the poor Orcs but me. Aw!

haha I'm awful with names. And I remembered the story so I didn't check to see if the names you used in the initial post were correct. So was there anything in the CK about a quest that just didn't make it in or anything? This one has me curious.

Nothing so far... but I haven't looked much further than dialogue (been working on something else).

It has all the components, so if no quest exists, I can make one.

(I found some other Orc dialogue that has to do with The Cursed Tribe quest that is not used (can't be, the way the quest is written), and with this missing quest issue, makes me think the poor Orcs got no love from Beth! I fixed some silly dialogue issues (Mauhulakh calling his son father, etc), PROPERLY made Garakh a vendor (she had her own chest and everything, just not linked!), and now I'm working on figuring out scripting so I can make that bloody giant stop attacking after The Cursed Tribe is completed. This is no more than HOUSEKEEPING - why didn't Beth take care of these things???????)

I thought there was meant to be a quest there too. The son says its wierd his aunts behaviour, his aunts are odd, his sister does'nt think so.
Went in, chief says nothing. No quest.
Maybe there was meant to be a quest there. There most definately is the start for one.

Maybe it is in future dlc. But it is a bit minor to be dlc.
