Next patch --- They should make the game more difficult

Or include a higher difficulty level than what is offered in-game. Hands down Rage is the easiest game I've ever played (not including casual flash games) that it makes me wonder what's the whole point of filling the game with the following:

1. regenerating health
2. a defibrillator
3. recipes that produce survivability items

if the AI is so thrifty with their bullets? The AI is one of the best in realistic actions --- they limp, they run for cover, they yell and yes they do immerse me in the firefights; it's as if you're really there --- but the frequency with which they fire their weapons don't make you duck for cover as much, making gunfights turkey shoots; you just pop out, snipe heads and shoulders that jut out from cover, duck back in when the enemies squeeze off a shot or two then rinse and repeat.

MINOR SPOILERS

Sure the Authority and the Gearheads gave me a RELATIVELY (compared to the other factions) harder time but I died only three two times in my two Rage playthroughs (Normal and Hard). Two deaths. There's something wrong there.

If they're ever going to release it, that is :whistling:

Some of the weapons are just too powerful. Pop rockets basically turn your shotgun into a grenade launcher, but don't hurt you if they explode right in front of you. Wing sticks can fly around corners and even up and down tracking enemies the whole way. But what I'd really like is more enemies. Carmack said he reduced the number of opponents so they could get 60fps on consoles, but I want more. Endless waves of mutants that make it challenging for even the most powerful weapons and give my PC a workout.

Why do you find it necessary for the game to 'give your PC a workout'? I don't get it - do you just want to have a lower framerate, or do you want it to have better graphics?

Bad design decision IMHO. Powerful weapons, nearly unlimited supply of HP (life) + anemic enemy count + anemic enemy rate of fire = ridiculously easy.

Don't get me wrong, I still had a good time with the game (except for the last level which was: 1. uninspired 2. still too easy 3. ended abruptly. There's a 4th one but I don't want to spoil things for the ones who haven't finished it yet).

Carmack has also said they went too far in making it console friendly. Now's their chance to make up for it.

Regenerating health and the defibrillator are all great ideas that allow them to fine tune the difficulty of the game, but its just not difficult enough. At the very least nightmare level should have infinitely regenerating opponents.

Dude, you can't get lower frame rates in this game. It locks the frame rate at 60fps and lowers the textures to compensate if necessary. I'll take the occasional lower textures when the action gets hot and heavy.

i disagree, it may be easy to play but if you have it on nightmare you cant run and gun as much because if you get shot a couple times you are close to death much much faster, so with that you have to use cover more and change up your gameplay

the game was made to be fun and a game that you can just put in anytime and get right to what was intended

It is a shiny toy for children. I played nearly half the game on nightmare before I was killed. Meh!

Dude, grab 300 pop rockets and load up on wing sticks and nothing can stand in your way. Its a classic id game where the fun is in figuring out exactly how to run right up to the bad guys and blow their heads off. I'd love to try a mod for this game where I could sprint nonstop and see just how fast I can finish all the levels.
