My next playtrough...

Post » Sun Sep 04, 2011 5:31 pm

I've seen ideas of playing trough the game without killing any single person/creature.
How about reversing this? On my next playtrough, I'm going to kill everything in my sight.
Is this possible? What perks/skills would be useful?

You would probably fail about 90% of all quests.

you would probably quit the game because your character would commit suicide out of lonliness!!!!

Pretty much the same perks and skill that would normally be useful, with the exception that speech, barter, and any other skills or perks that alter interpersonal relations will be useless. As The Lobotomite points out, it will be impossible to complete the vast majority (if not all) of the quests in the game. So you'll either need to allow exceptions for quest related people, at least until the quests they are involved in are completed, or accept the fact that you will be playing without quests.

This won't be a regular playtrough. My main quest will be to kill every main character.
I know about the quests, maybe I'll do some that give some good rewards before killing the quest giver.
Bad Karma FTW haha.

Pissing off the NCR early on is kind of a bad idea, as I have just found out the hard way lol, so maybe hold off on slaughtering them until later on.

When you reach NCR Vilified status, a group of Rangers will approach you and give you 3 days to improve your rep with them, or they will hunt you down in the wilderness and very likely kill you everytime (if you are still low lvl/poorly equipt, there is one guy inparticular that has insane DT and is impossible).

It may just be how I played this character though. I started off by befriending the Powder Gangers and killed the invading NCR, then went past through Sloan and snuck by all the Deathclaws, skipping past everything inbetween to go right to the strip.

With only 3 days to improve the rep, and having most quests unavailable because of having such bad rep.. the only thing I could do in the Strip area is the Fiend Bounties and rescue Bryce from Vault 3. Which will only bring you back up to Merciful Thug (not enough), and then.. oops time is up! /Dies

Probably wouldn't really be as much of a problem if this wasn't a hardcoe playthrough either, and having companions with perma-death lol.

So I guess moral of the long story, don't do I did lol, because i'm now stuck at the strip with no choice but spamming Bryce for free XP until I can handle those Rangers waiting for me outside.

you can complete the Yes Man ending while still killing everyone.
this gives me an interesting Role playing idea. imagine your character is an android, who wants to make the Mojave a land where robots can thrive in peace. you side with Yes Man, and activate Houses robots to take over new vegas. only companions allowed are Rex and ED-E. sounds fun =P

that DOES sound fun! A "modern?" day Terminator!

Its too bad but there is an awsome mod for fo3 that makes a playable race that is an Android/Terminator race with missing skin and robotics underneath with 3 different options of "wear" severity...If only somone would port it...

If you sneak-kill them with a silenced weapon, you can avoid rep loss.

Some NPC's are like Yes Man and can't be killed.

I started it, and it's simply awesome. It's very satisfying leaving ghost town after ghost town behind you. You can easily grab some loot (although many things are useless since I'm going to kill the shopkeepers as well) and the terminator feeling is simply great. I can only recommend trying it out yourself. :disguise:

Is this possible?

There is a thread on this subject http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1226353-brain-dead-fredkill-em-all-challenge/. That said, it does sound like it may be some fun. I may have to try that on my next playthrough.

My guess would be that you wouldn't be needing intelligence or charisma, since you'll be killing everything and anyone in sight...It doesn't take a genius to figure out that, does it?
