Next Skyrim add-on : Conquer back Tamriel

Post » Fri Jul 13, 2012 12:54 am

Hi,

As many people already spoke of, regarding the next Skyrim add-on, it would be really cool to continue the main storyline, as you guys did with the Broken Steel add-on in Fallout 3. Particularly, the Empire vs the Aldmeri Dominion war.

Here are some fan suggestions regarding that would-be storyline :

Regardless of his allegiance during the war, the dragonborn receives a vision from Talos, the last dragonborn before him who conquered all of Tamriel. He asks him to conquer back Tamriel from the Aldmeri Dominion and to restore the dragon bloodline on the Emperor's throne. (Just another day at the office).

Then, with the help of Odahviing/Paarthurnax, the dragonborn then calls for a meeting of dragon, of which he is now the lord (after alduin's defeat in Sovngarde). He convince the dovs to help him in his quest. Some agree and some don't (so there will still be dragons to kill out there). [ PROBLEM WITH THE BLADES RIGHT HERE ]

With a dragon army at his back, the dragonborn is now another political and military force. Now depending of his allegiance (Stormcloak/Imperial/Independant) the story will differ a bit :

THE SKYRIM PART (After the Moot)

- If aligned with the Imperials, he will arrange a meeting with Elisif and the elder council to become emperor. (I don't know if that even makes sense, or is too bold, but it seems legit at this point)

- If aligned with the Stormcloaks, he will arrange a meeting with Ulfric and the elder council to become emperor, sign the independance treaty of Skyrim, or something that overthrow the white gold concordat.

- If independant, the dragonborn will challenge Ulfric in battle (and win). He will then assault Solitude with his dragon army and take the High Throne by force. He will demand every remaining military presence in Skyrim to either join him or leave Skyrim.

THE EMPIRE PART
- Being the emperor or high king of Skyrim, the dragonborn then contacts the Hammerfell resistance and join force with them. If only High King, the dragonborn then meets with the elder council to legitimize his claim to the throne. His first ruling is to sign a treaty with Hammerfell, getting them back into the empire with several conditions (to make amends for the white gold concordat).

- Now having all the empire, hammerfell, skyrim and the dragons at his back, the dragonborn muster his forces and advance to the Summerset Isle, seat of the Aldmeri Dominion and this is where the rest of the add-on will be played.

What do you think?

Dragonborn becoming Emperor? I think that is kind of out of line. The Emperor can't run around the world and fight. He is the Emperor. The Civil War was not the main questline. The main questline was about the return of the dragons and Alduin.

Yes because adding several provinces larger than Skyrim geographically is going to happen as DLC...

I'd rather Bethesda focus on this as TES:VI rather than a DLC.

Sound a bit too grandiose for a DLC.

actually i really liked it, just throw more quests in it and a few requirements like have already completed the Mainquest and maybe became thane in all Holds (+ the Civil war to unlock the Imperial/Stormcloak side of the quest)
would be REALLY EPIC *-*

Vote Dragonborn for Emperor of Tamriel ?/

First of all...Welcome to the forum and have a complementary fishy stick. http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg

Then there is an ongoing discussion about future DLC here. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1392686-future-dlc-suggestions-not-dawnguard-thread-5/

I would rather not be forced to do the main quest for the DLC, but that's just my opinion. Dawnguard did it well. No main quest=some missed content, but still perfectly playable.

In Oblivion we became a MAD GOD that rules his own realm and we still could run around anywhere questing and looting :3

If you think of shivering isles, which was a great DLC, I guess that something similiar in Summerset Isle isn't that impossible. There's no need to design all the provinces really

for this kind of DLC we would be forced to do the main quest or it would be senseless, and making this a very hard set of quests would add ALOT to endgame play *-*

why? when the "emperor zero" died Talos got the support of the nords with his Thu'um, then taked the Imperial Throne by force and consolidated his power conquering all of Tamriel, and then became a divine when he died, why couldn't our dragonborn do something similar? (except the part of becaming a divine q-)

If there was a Skyrim DLC that you needed to do that main quest to play, I would still buy it. Heck, I'll buy any Skyrim DLC. I really like the game. It's just I would be disappointed. I played like 4 months without doing the main quest and had more fun with non-dragonborn characters than characters that are the dragonborn. I like the route Dawnguard took, as I said in my previous post, and personally would like Bethesda to continue that route.

As for the op, this DLC idea kinda seems really over the top. Interesting ideas though.

this is a question on lore, how is the developers going to write the lore for any future Elder scrolls if they cant name or describe the one emperor who united Tamriel? you mean he will be known as the Dragonborn/Dovahkiin emperor? i just cant se it. and then comes the part of Summerset isles, a whole province, as a DLC/Expansion for a main serie game, thats not going to happend and a lot of the fans don't want it to happen.

what happens in the Realms, stays in the realms. the main series games will always take place in Tamriel and its history will always be an important part of the game.

1.) Highly unlikely, mainly for being a DLC.
2.) The idea of a dragon army backing me made my mouth water. Do want. I can imagine it now...
Bandit: "You'll make a fine pair of boots, lizard!"
-army flies in-
Me: "Which one?"
Bandit: "Fu-"

So, basically, all they'd need to do for this DLC is recreate Skyrim ten times over, redesign the engine so it can run somewhat large battles without having an aneurism, and add a main quest longer than all the guilds of Skyrim put together.

Sounds great. When do they give out the beta keys?

Yep my sentiments exactly.

DLC like finish the civil war. Can go many different paths not something that is so huge that it would be almost a game in itself.
