Nice Little Touches

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 5:12 am

There was a post yesterday about someone who found dragon footprints, I thought it was kind of cool, a nice little touch if you will. On my travels I found a birds nest next to a tree on the ground (took a pic but on console so will upload it later) with a single blue egg in it. I couldn't pick it up though. So what are the little things you've seen and liked? What are your nice little touches? Pics welcomed.

I don't know if you would consider it a 'little' touch but I really enjoyed exploring this tiny cavern (Brood Cavern) with bears in it. Two bears were sitting next to the corpse of an Elk doing some sort eating animation while another with moving around in a waterfall. It was just nice I suppose to see a couple of bears in their den who werent ripping my face off.

I love the salmon jumping upstream ... reminds me of the john west tuna advert with the bear. The amazing skies at night too are a fine addition the the series.

You should be able to harvest the nest and get the egg.

I just salmon yesterday, first time I noticed that.

Beehives, that was unexpected, so is catching bees.

The way a horse will try to revive it's owner that has been killed.

Post Stealer!

I saw one out of the corner of my eye just the other day. I had seen Honeycombs around, and Beehive Husks, but for some reason I was impressed to see the Beehive hanging in a tree (complete with a bear growling nearby).

There's a good place next to a bandits hide out on the way to Falkreath.

I like the fog on the mountains, the realistic looking clouds, the fireflies, things like that.

I noticed awhile ago when Skyrim first came out that there are ants moving around on some of the tree stumps. You can't pick them up or anything but I thought it was pretty cool that someone took the time to add them in.

I still like how people react when you drop items. Everyhting from two people fighting to the death over a single piece of iron ore, to somebody handing me a ruby, saying that I dropped it.

I like the auroras, and have taken tons of screenshots of them. Theres a lot more that I havent uploaded to my steam profile.

I enjoy trying to catch Dragonflies, the fact that they will fly off and become impossible to catch is a neat touch. I really enjoy the attention to little details on animal behavior in this game.

Probably everyone knows this; I was spraying a fire spell in Whiterun when a little boy ran up to me and asked me to turn him invisible. Pretty cool.

I've seen that said before, but I've never found any ants or termites.

The guy with the wagon commenting on the weather when it's bad is a nice touch.

Yeah, technically speaking they are harvestable plants :hehe:

Loved how when you kill a re-animated person as they die they whisper "Peace..." or "finally..." and "Thank you..."

Can't remember were it is, but it's of road between iverstead and the abandon prison, there is a large gap and about 20 feet down or so there is a stream, and a waterfall coming down from the mountains, but what really got me was the fallen tree across the gap. man it was a sight.

If you see dragonflies circling above the water, it's a sign that fish are swimming underneath it; though that was a nice little touch.

The frog sounds outside Markarth during the spring, not sure if they stop during the winter months? Would be a nice touch if they did though, will have to remember to take note come Frost fall or Sun's dusk.

I first saw them on one of the tree stumps near Riverwood, North East of the Saw Mill. They aren't on all the stumps in Skyrim but every once in awhile you'll see them.

Theres also the weird side, I was going from Whiterun-Solitude and just as I reached the second Giant camp( the one with the sleeping tree ) two giants cross the road just ahead of me. They didn't attack or anything they just walked on by, but then their tattoos started to glow a redish heugh. I took note of the surroundings and noticed that both moons were out and full but do you think for the life of me that I can get the timeing right inorder to confirm my theory.NNNNNNNOOOOOOOO , still tryen to get a pic of it.
