A nice Skyrim topic for a change

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 1:23 pm

This forum has lately been filled with only negative comments about things people aren't liking, bugs people have gotten adn just plain complaining about Skyrim.....a reality check, even if every member on these forums was a single person and every single one was having problems with skyrim, we would still be only 2% of the game total userbase.

Bethesda created a great game that the majority of people are enjoying, so lets have a positive topic here, simply posting about things in Skyrim we are enjoying.

I for one am really enjoying the dungeons in Skyrim, they are so much bigger and richer then in past games, and the puzzles in some of them are really enjoyable.

Yeah, its annoying.

I'm getting Halo Reach for xmas this year as IGN voted it the best game on the Xbox 360. I can't wait to get it!

I mozied on over to the Halo Reach forum and low and behold, its packed full of moaning whingers saying how rubbish it is.

Well if these IGN 10/10 games are rubbish then what are the other ones like?

Personally I think they are amazing.

Wow, another complaint thread. These never get old.

What? It's not a complaint thread? Try reading everything in the OP except the very last sentence. :P

I'm enjoying the fact that I can dual wield without playing on pc and downloading someone's homebrew mod for such an ability... Bout time they put that ability in one of these games... Also quite enjoying the fact that my armor doesn't degrade, I realize that this can take away from immersion but equipment degrading in the older games is one of the things that annoyed me the most about them, mainly because it degraded far faster than it should have with higher level armors that should have been more durable than the lower level armors... The fact that it degraded added to realism but the fact that it degraded so insanely fast just took all that realism away from it... So for the most part I'm quite enjoying Skyrim...

I have to agree that the way the thread starts after the thread name does make it seem like it's going to be a complaint first...

I enjoy the freedom in Skyrim. Nothing new in TES games but still...it takes the cake.

I got told "I am your master!" by a Thalmor Justicar, one second before he was decapitated, while my character was absorbing a dragon soul. That moment alone was worth 10/10.

Never before has a series made me so hateful and racist to a race of lizards in a virtual world.

TES, what would I ever do without you? :tes:

As of tonight I hit 160 hours and I still am amazed at how huge and detailed this game is. About an hour ago after I killed a vampire in his cave, I walked over to his table to pick up his gold coins. And I noticed for the first time that they have the Imperial logo on one side and a face on the other. I stopped and just looked at those coins.

I love this game.

Unfortunately any game, no matter how good it is, will get flamed due to some glitches. While Skyrim does have alot of problems that need to be fixed, people need to realize that the games scale and content is amazing. I am no where near finished this game but I already want DLC, not because the game has grown old, but because I can't wait to see where Bethesda takes this amazing game.

I like almost everything about it.

The whole idea of people seeing "streamlining" as "dumbing" down is baffling to me. As I've said before, real life has all the possible "RP" potential that can be conceived and it has no skill boxes. To me. shifting the game towards just "living another life" and naturally growing better at what you do the most is the most natural evolution of a game like this there could be. This is fully interactive media, there is no reason why it need to be held back by 1980's pen and paper games. Advanced stat management is necessary to play D&D, not to role playing. There is no perfect system but I think they've gone a long why towards advancing what an RPG can be.

I also just have to say that the music is awesome. Probably the best I've ever heard in a game and better then 99.9 percent of the film soundtracks out there. I wish they had an Oscar for best gaming sound track. The instrumental pub music is as good as anything I've heard in the genre. And I know music.

You have to remember that the kind of hard-core orthodox d&d fan who hates the way TES has evolved is exactly the kind of "fan" who is going to be disproportionately represented on RPG gaming forum. I know everyone I know loves it.

I just say boycott negative spam threads so they'll just go away.

Maybe because it is a complaint, how is this any more valid or positive or even remotely going to help improve future games by letting it be known what we don't like and what we would like to see back? Then anyone persons complaint regarding the actually game. It's not it's just another sad excuse to tear down people while trying to make yourself seem "above them all".

And you do realise that even though 2% of the player base may post here that doesn't include everyone that might have a complaint. It's a gross over estimation to think that everyone who has a complaint would have register to do it.

Always have enjoyed games that offer such a wide choice of ways to play, and love companies who openly encourage modding and provide the tools to do so.

At last a thread that makes sense....

The last two I were in blew my mind...

One guy was upset that he had to level up skills he didnt think his character would use to get perk points...

And the other was mad because he felt...my eyes start to cross when I think about it... he was mad... because he felt... the game was forcing him to wear a helmet....

I gotta go watch tv now...

Just the sheer scope of the game. TES have always been big and mind blowing but visually, Skyrim blows me away every time I play it. Finding new things all the time and just generally exploring a fantastic world.
