"A Night to Remember" bug?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:51 pm

Minor spoilers. PLEASE KEEP RESPONSES AS SPOILER-FREE AS POSSIBLE. I like surprises. :3

OK. I love how my quick stop in Windhelm to resupply and hire a wagon ended up with my orc drunkenly fondling temple statues and generally getting herself into trouble. However, I think I've run into a bug. I'm told to help clean up -- my speech isn't high enough for a persuade, so I have to do it -- but I've picked up the only items I can find that don't have me steal (two bottles of alto wine and a giant toe) and I still get the "I'll talk to you when you clean up" dialogue from the temple lady.

I finally broke down and wiki'd the quest, and a brief skim (again, trying to avoid as many spoilers as possible) suggests I should also have found a note from my drinking buddy and a hagraven feather. They just aren't there. I DO have the option to pay for repairs, but I dunno if that's going to progress the quest correctly or not.

Help? =/

There's a bit of stuff laying around, I had to follow the quest arrows to find it all...

UESP says there is not actually a hargraven feather to collect. Are you on PC?

Yep, I'm on PC.

As for arrows...I did turn floating icons off. Maybe I'll turn them back on just for this one, see if I do any better.

I was able to progress to by paying and then chatting through all of the options with the priestess.

Awesome. I'll try that tonight, then. I'd rather not pay but I've got to piece together my night on the town, lol.

Yeah, I turned them off first thing and honestly I kind of forgot about their existence until Ross mentioned it. Doh!

Don't use Speech to get out of things in this one, you'll miss some of the funny bits that way!

Lol! Good deal, though I don't think it was much of a danger anyways. She's not the most persuasive gal.

I saw this same EXACT problem happen to a guy i follow on youtube, PyroStasis, who also plays on PC. His was the same problem, he picked up everything except the note (upon watching closer in the video he kicked it away by accident in his stumbling around picking up everything that wasnt labeled steal) because he also did not have the quest marker arrow's on. he ended up just using the pay option because he got too frustrated. hope it works out for you, good luck!

Took me forever to find the note. It's there, just not easy to find. I ran around that darn temple at least a dozen times checking every nook and cranny before I finally spotted it.

I could have sworn I had too. I busted out Candlelight and everything. I blame the fact that it was like 5 a.m. I'm not blind, just tired! ;)

OK, found my stuff, left the Temple....and LOL. Down the rabbit hole apparently. Poor Semjaza. This quest is awesome. No resupplying/heading off to fill in the blank spots...people are slipping her notes, getting murdered and engaging in all kinds of deviant behavior.
