While going through the process of joining the thieves guild, I was given an option to join the Nighting Gales. When it is time to conduct the ritual to become a member, Karliah tells me to stand by the gate, and when she opens it I am to occupy the ritual stone in the chamber. I move forward to the gate, and she walks the other direction toward the exit. What is going on here?

Cat I understand about the different sections. The reason I have posted this here is that the game play seems flawed at the point. There seems to be no way to continue with this portion.
