When in Avanchnzel, doing Unfathomable Depths, I found a few similarities to Tolkien's The Hobbit.
The previous party are looking for treasure in an abandoned Dwarven settlement, like Thorin and his dwarves. Breya says something along the line of "We should have brought a burglar." (Bilbo was the burglar in The Hobbit). Without a burglar, most of the party in Avanchnzel die - if Bilbo wasn't with the Dwarves in the Hobbit, they would have died on several occasions.

For some reason i can't seem to see myself read a Tolkien book. I will see this in december when the movie premiers

The Hobbit is an amazing book. Might be better than any LOTR book, in my opinion. Definitely worth a read.

I never enjoyed reading tolkiens stuff either, i dont know what it is about it that i dislike...

Ive read the whole dune series except for chapter house dune... ive read a number of "cheap" sci fi like warhammer 40k novels, video game novels etc, something about tolkien is just clunky

I'm reading the hobbit again atm which is how I probably didn't pick up on it before
