Oh noes! I is stuck in Saarthal! Helps! :O

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:23 am

Lol, just being cute for the ladies. XD

Anyway, I joined the Mages Guild and entered Saarthal. I get to the part with the six turntables with the Whale, Raven, and Snake on them. Problem is, there's NO key (for the order in which they go)!

All I get with the lever is more poison arrows, though easily dodged. I've tried, and tried, and tried different random combinations, but there's thousands of combinations of SIX Whale, Raven and Snake. That being said, I JUST started a new game, and didn't have any torches. I had a hard time navigating the area, but I HAVE throughly checked for the usual hints of the Whale, Raven, and Snake symbols near the ancient bearded Nord dudes carved into the rock where they usually are.

I need help on HOW to get out, please! :(

If you get the arrows you have a key. Otherwise you have to try to "claw" your way through *hint hint*

The combonation is one the Claw, simply look at it and it should show you what the combo is in the palm(?) of the claw.

Ah, crap. Did I forget one of the Claws? Must've missed it not having any torches. I still have my other game and have most of the Claws.

If I remember correctly the symbols are on the walls behind the turntables themselves.
If you can't see them you might want to turn up the game's brightness for a bit.

There's no claw door in Saarthal is there?

Man, I did two of those damned Claw walls trying every tedious combination before I finally looked at the claw for the third one. I literally screamed "Son of a..." so loud my dog knocked my drink off the table running scared into the other room.

But yes, the answer is on the walls.

isnt this puzzle the one with the picture *behind* the turning stones

if not, sometime there is a fresco nearby

there is no claw in saarthal, peoples are making fun of you

anyway, there is a lot of different puzzle type, but its one of those above for sarthaal I think

there is a third type, where there was 4 fixed pillars, then 4 moving ones
I think the problem is each pillar made other pillar move,
but there was a solution:

the first pillar made all other 3 moves,
second one move the last two
third one only move the 4rth
and 4th one move nothing

so you need to set them in order, because 2-3-4 will not move number one
so you set number one first, then 2, then 3 then 4
otherwise you mess everything

in any case, in that one, you wanted to place the 4 moving one so they would be like the fixed ones
(or maybe mirror image, I don t remember)

check uesp.net, they got the solution (unoficial elder scrolls page)

The answers are on the walls behind the symbols. OMG some people are so ignorant.

Mmhmm - look above the pillars against the wall, it shows you right there.

I remember doing that "puzzle" thinking. "Geez, can't they give us an actual... y'know. Puzzle, this is kindergarten stuff xD". But, apparently those old nordic tests really do work xD

Most would be offended when being called ignorant. The word ignorant simply means to be without knowledge or understanding. Thus, sir, though perhaps rude, you were correct.
