Non- Bug Related Patches That YOU want discussion

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 6:31 pm

First a for most, this thread will not tolerate people spamming "FIXES THE BOGS FAST FIRST CHEESE NOW!!!ZZZ!!ZZ!!"

This is for people to discuss their wants, and praise other people's ideas on non-bug related patch ideas. Thank you

1. Kinect Shouts CONFIRMED!!!!!
Probability: Low
Why: Microsoft
Even before the game jam, i wanted this. Shouting Fus Ro dah at your tv is one type of fun, but being able to scream it and the tv react would be another. In my house, it would always be going off because of my fus ro dah battles with my roomies and freinds, however, this gameplay mechanic would make shout management better, so you wouldnt have to pause and switch shouts all the time. The first thing that would have to be done, is that they would have to show you in game, the english letter words of the shouts so you can memorize them. thats one challenge that some can argue bethesda shouldn't invest time into. However, if xbox holds the highest sales of Skyrim, why not? Microsoft. Kinect is a big market microsoft is trying to promote, Microsoft probably would want to remark the entire game to put the purple logo on it and all that jazz. I just dont think Bethesda would get the okay. I dont see this happening unless they add it to a game of the year bundle or something.

2.Armor/clothing clothing pallete swaps
Probablity: Low
Why: Its never really been done by developers
A simple act of taking a chunk of wearable armor and clothing, going into photoshop and changing the pallete and adding the items to the random loots and leveled lists. Its a great way and easy way to add more armor, without adding more armor. However, i imagine the simple idea of this would make people angry because why do this when you can fix bugs. to you, shut up. I doubt this would happen anyways.

3. hardcoe Mode/ Darker Dungeons Togglable
Probability: extremely low
why: Alot of work
This is a high community demand, but the work that would need to be done is quite large. Making dungeons darker would be quite the task, also, for npcs to react realistically in dark dungeons would be difficult. The hardcoe mode would also be hard, you would have to script the use of food and drink better. However, if this ever happens, making it togglable or atleast at the start of a new toon, would be acceptable from most.

4.Khajit Marriages/ Re-marriage after spouse death\
Probability: Probably low, even though it could be easy.
Why: Mudane tasks and voice work for new spouses
The Khajit marriages would need new voice work, so that probably out. However a simple turning off of a script or flag when your married when a spouse dies doesn't seem impossible. However, im not a scripter.

5. Dragonbone Weapons
Probability: Low
Why: new textures
Simple enough, make dragonbone weapons, if you can forge armor, why not weapons!?

6. Spell Mixes (like game jam showed with Drain health)
Probability: Low
Why: More Bugs
The game jam showed some cool concepts with you mix two different spells to get one different spell, but the fact taht if your mixing a destruction spell and lets say an alteration spell, the leveling could became weird, but who knows

7. More Kill Cams
Probability:High
Why: They have done it once
The community seems to be split on kill cams, i think their cool, some do not. The newer ones seem to annoy people, however, seeing more variation and soothe that pain.

anyways i'll post more as i think of some

Edit1 :

8. Real Carriages
Probability: High
Why: its out on PC
This was made by a developer already is in the steam workshop, there are bugs still, however, its possible to see a console port

Edit2:

9. Fix third person dual weapon draw and sheathe animations, as well as add more weapons to be shealthed and seen on your body, (staffs, dual weapons, etc)
Probability: low
Why: purely cosmectic/immersion
This is a fairly big concern to some, however, some may claim its a waste of resources when it is simply visual

10. Add Sheathed weapons that stay on your body, even when you equip spells
probability: low
why: cosmetic stuff
Again with this one as well, its probably wont happen, more so than above, it would just be nice to see you sword on your hip when your throwing ice and ice trolls.. ya know?

I'd like to see poor Louis Letrush finally merged with his multiple clones from the alternate universe.

8. hotkeys fixed for consoles. keep the favorites menu in 1 direction, or even assign-able to the d-pad directions. allow us to treat each direction as a 'load out' macro. where you can assign items/magic to character's slots.

9. killcam toggle

10. better interface in general. sortable, categorized containers, indicators for active effect in HUD. toggle compass, cross hairs and enemy indicators.

11. more detailed journal, with enough text direction such that nearly every quest could be completed without map markers

12. spell crafting

13. cast non-offensive spells from horseback (nighteye, restore health, clairvoyance)

14. map. turn off weather, discover roads, complete rotation and better zoom. demarcate the holds somehow

3. hardcoe Mode/ Darker Dungeons Togglable
Probability: extremely low
why: Alot of work
This is a high community demand, but the work that would need to be done is quite large. Making dungeons darker would be quite the task, also, for npcs to react realistically in dark dungeons would be difficult.

If they had considered this issue in the beginning it would have been easy to just toggle off the lights for the uninhabited dungeons with a switch in the options menu, making them pitch black until the PC brings in some sort of light source. I don't get why this would be that hard to do after the fact, but certainly easier if they had thought of it before. Why would there be any issue with how NPCs react? What would be the problem with just relying on their existing AI?

The hardcoe mode would also be hard, you would have to script the use of food and drink better. However, if this ever happens, making it togglable or atleast at the start of a new toon, would be acceptable from most.

I don't get why this would be so much work. The modders can do it with ease, why would it be so hard for Bethesda to do something similar?

..... i dont get it

Broken script in the quest that involves him, sends his horse off without him, and he for whatever reason the engine decides, sends him outside the Whiterun Stables, where he is then regenerated by the engine seemingly at random. These regenerated Louises do not reset, and thus you find yourself with many of them. Some people have 6 of those guys.

My #1 requerst for new patches/DLC would be an immersive HUD option for consoles. Let us turn off the compass and the sneak crosshair without loosing the "invisible" status bars.

Destruction magic fix. Screw spell making, make the existing ones useful. Make the damage scale (like weapons do), pop up combat mana regen, and we'll talk.

Darker dungeons? Maybe some of you have messed with the gamma settings, but on default some of them are dark enough I'm forced to light a torch/cast a spell to see.

Dragon Vocabulary Overhaul (Harder Dragons/Additional Shout usage for Dragons)

Probability: Moderately Low

Why: Though it's already been demonstrated in user Mods such as Deadly Dragons, and it's technically pretty easy, some people actually have a hard time with Skyrim on Novice, making Dragons globally harder would probably upset the delicate balance of the universe... or something, I don't know, I just want to experience fear when I see these things on the Horizon again! I am on PS3 and I don't know what a "gamma" setting is, but I went into the Options menu and the display submenu and turned down the brightness all the way and it barely made any difference. There are very few places where I need to use my nighteye racial power to see.

Build your own house, complete with skeleton butler! And definitely no more kill cams. Kill cams are for the people who think skyrim is purely about combat.

Forced lunar transformations for werewolves, and infecting NPCS with the disease so we can see actual were's in the wild at night, and a werewolf perk tree.

There are so many I want, but I'll limit myself to one--seasons. Seasons in Daggerfall added so much immersion.
