hi guys,i have hung back a bit on buying this, but was thinking of getting this week, now dont laugh, but im actually a fan of homefront.......hey i said dont laugh ;-) itsactually a good game if you get past the lags freeze and boots, but its really lacking in tech backup, the devs dont reply to questions on the forums and the mod was a tad keen on assuming everything was gonna turn into a flame war,so im just wondering if you could give your opinions on brink,i dont wanna buy another game thats ....well dying,im not too worried about campaign but it is a bonus(see crysis 2) im more interested in online, but should admit that im........a first generation gamer (sounds better than older than gods donkey ;-) ) and can hold my own in summat like cod,but im no expert.would i enjoy this game or is it full of campers and spawn cheats? that wasnt meant negatively by the way. just a tad nervous at buying summat im not going to get on with (see crysis 2) although i do love it i get owned on it,but havent played it for a while.be grateful for some honest opinions guys.all the best

The games good, very fun.
the only time you will get spawn camped is if your team is a fail bunch of fails.

Dying....no, Truth is it never took off due to poor game design, no lobbies, menus arent that clear, so a new player wont know how to get onto multiplayer unless they poke around a bit.
Community is split those who enjoy the game and are having fun, those who like the game but don't like some of the issues and those who try say they are quitting but still stay here firing off their useless opinion.

Main issues with game
Lag (i never have issues with lag but apparently some ppl do)
no lobbies, a major inconvenience
Below par graphics, i like the graphics but they arent 2011 graphics, more 08/09
Some class based in-balance (main argument is engi>OP's)

Fake issues (These are complaints from forum that should be ignored)
Unbalanced maps, This is codswallop, maps work well, if your team does.
Damage, even tho there are a bunch of weapons that are completely useless, the damage on game is fine if you understand how to shoot an assault rifle.
Lack of online human players, codwallop again, you just have to advertise wanting to be in full human matches via here, also forming are clans/guilds, so all good imo

Overall it is a good game with one major issue...NO LOBBIES, but all other issues don't hinder gameplay, and Splash Damages Dev team should be able to fix them easy once they finished spending $$$$$.

Brink is a lot of fun. Sure it has some issues, but name a game that doesn't.

I'd suggest reading through some threads on here or on the SplashDamage forums. If you want to make sure, I'd suggest renting it (if your on a console).

I really enjoy it, but Brink is not for everyone. Im not going to say "if you love CoD /Halo, then you'll hate Brink" bc I love both of those games as well. That being said this is a class based team shooter, so don't expect it to be like the afore mentioned titles. I think a lot of the negativity being directed towards BRINK is coming from people that wanted a TDM based realistic shooter or that wanted a solid single player campaign.
The main thing to keep in mind is that due to the various classes, abilities and weapons available certain setups are going to be better than others in different situations. You need to play to your character's strengths. For example there are a lot of people that complain that SMGs are OP, but these tend to be people that are trying to compete with SMGs while using ARs or MGs at close range or firing from the hip, where SMGs should have an advantage. The key to being successful in this game is to understand the different classes / abilities roles, finding the setup that fits your playstyle the best, and working as a team.
There are definite issues with the 360 version of the game at the moment, but I feel like most of these will be ironed out in the upcoming months and the current game is well balanced and fun when played with the right people.

I like the game either you are going to hate it or love it. I recommend renting it or playing it at a friends. My only real complaint with out me sounding nit picky is NO LOBBIES!
