Never mind, if you go back 30 odd days later you can admire the next one and maybe not kill it. There are two shellbugs hidden in the vale, if you mine them and leave before the third strike, both survive and you get enough chitin to make your helmet.

So I'm noticing everybody reacts very negatively to killing the shellbug. I never got around to finding it in my game - what's with the emotional response? What am I missing?

Reminds me of my thread, oh so long ago.
If I knew how to mod, I'd put a shellbug at my house.

No secret, it is just a unique helmet you can make to go with the rest of your Falmer armor.

I've never seen a Shellbug. Where are they found? I picture them looking like the Chaurus, or even worse, the flying Chaurus

They are sort of cute actually, all they seem to do is breath, so nothing threatening despite their size. The Falmer use their shells for their huts.

But on the bright side you get to wear his face as a mask, just take his mats to a forge and craft a shellbug helmet!

It makes... The strangest yet soothing noise... And brings back some Morrowind nostalgia due to it's alienness :( i want to hug one.

LOL that's it! I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

:( wearing the helmet only makes me feel sad, so i hide it in a chest lol.
