Is it normal for me to have pretty much just started the game, to be at Whiterun i think its called and feel confused.. :(
I understand the main quests but i cant keep up with the amount of side quests, just chatting to everyone is giving me so much to do. Well that's how it feels. 9 maybe 10 things on the misc section. I forgot about a few of them already too. :s

I may be a 1st post 360 playin' noob to TES. Dont hate. :) Just after lil tips.

oh yeh chose wood elf,but focusing on magic aswell as archery. Named him link cos i saw some video on youtube of links tunic so kinda plays like link from TLoZ.

Well, it may be normal, but the main point to remember is that Bethesda's games are not about doing quests or any type of completion, per se. Beth's games are about creating a character and exploring a world. You don't have to do ANY quests at all. The only reason Beth puts quests in their games is to give you an excuse to explore, but if you simply choose to explore however you want, you are already fulfilling the design goal of the game.

Be who you want to be!

Reminds me of my first time playing Morrowind and having to read paragraphs and paragraphs of text just to find the location of the quest. The Elder Scrolls has always been a difficult series to get into, but just take things slow, you don't have to take to everyone, nor do you have to do every quest with one character. Just play the game at a pace you enjoy.

Welcome!
Dont let it overwhelm you, so do it at your own pace. One thing at a time.

EDIT: my grammer is terrible today

Not as confused as i was first playing Oblivion 6 years ago... I thought I would die if I jumped in the water because of playing platformers most my life, it took me half an hour to figure out I could actually swim without dying to get away from the front of the sewer lmao, I had never played an open world game before and literally knew nothing about TES so everything about it blew my mind at first.

I think this is why many people feel the game has become to shallow. You get bombarded with quests just walking around town and soon you loose your connection with a certain quest or person, it just becomes a brief description in your menu. I prefer the method of talking to a couple of people at a time, completing those quests and coming back for more, makes the world feel more alive.

My advice do not commit to your first character just go nuts and experiment with everything then after you get a feel of a path you want to take make a new character and go from there.
