They said before it would end like fallout 3, also no way would they be able to refelct the choices in the game. Just start a new game or reload and dont finish it.

The moral of this story: the fact that the game is published by Bethesda doesn't guarantee it's going to be just like a TES game.

Its possible. It would just be a mass shuffling of NPC's.

It makes more sense here since the ending talks about future events.

There would be more to it than that, but I think the real reason is that they didn't have time in their schedule to add the post-game content.

Hadn't thought about that, but that's a good point too.

i guess making the game end is just another way of making money when the dlc comes out to carry on the game (broken steel)

Did you miss the big pop-up screen right before the final quest that told you that the game would end if you accepted the quest?

People seem to miss it a lot.

What's wrong with an ending? Don't most games have one? I thought it was kind of silly to sit through the slideshow at the end of FO3 "and so the story of the lone wanderer came to an end" and then see a caption "TWO WEEKS LATER."

Besides, this game has more of a reason to replay it than most do.

Reading? In MY Fallout? It's less likely than you think.

So, the big game-freezing dialogue that popped up before the mission warning you that you were at the point of no return and should finish your business because there was no going back after entering the final mission was no clue whatsoever?

I've said it before- they need to make that dialogue full-screen-sized and blinking in bright red, and make it impossible to click away for at least 30 seconds.

i guess making the game end is just another way of making money when the dlc comes out to carry on the game (broken steel)

Except that Obsidian has said repeatedly that there will be no Borked Steal-type "play after the end" DLC, and The End is exactly that: The End.
