Not bad at all..

Ok, what i mean. After so many let downs games for example hunted, brink, duke nukem forever, Rage is best of the let downs. PC developers are cheating pc players, for me, its legal steeling our hard earned money. Rage looks older than old Doom3, or Prey. Despite textures problem, custom config fixed it, and on my old rig playable @ 1920*1080, gpu nvidia gtx275 and vintage CPU intel e7500. What i dislike on Rage is that linear feeling, i cannot go where i want, so i'm limited by accepted missions, where i'm allowed to go.I dont understand why it consumes 21 GB on my hdd. Second problem is, when i exite active mission, for example i went from sewers to waistland, i completed 2 of 3 objectives, killed all bandits, and later i went back to the sewers to finish 1 remaining. all bandits were alive again at the same position as before. Music is OK, but repetetive, looping from middle of the song. Weapons, shooting and sounds are awesome, moving is perfect. Enemies are r3tarded, sometimes they are shooting to wrong directions, but on the other side they know trick jumping, they will surprise you at the moment you dont expect. Also their conversation is funny. Racing is OK, funny. Rage can entertain you for long time, if you do forgive developers and publishers for releasing unfinished game. From me, 7/10. Will i buy any new PC game this year ? No. PC gaming is over. Rage is proof of that.

Agree with a lot of what you said.

You CAN go where you like whilst on an active mission - the trouble is, there is NO POINT in driving elsewhere. What I dislike is that the game allows me to explore but there is absolutely no reason to do so unless I go admire the artwork or do a few jumps. Unless a mission is activated, hideouts are either locked (because they haven't become available yet) or completed empty because I've cleared it out once already, so there's no point in going back. Yes, I do like to look for easter eggs and grab all the loot but I seem to find everything the first time through and going back gives little in return. I like driving and exploring the world but it's pointless to do so in this game. Therefore, I'd rather it was just a bunch of traditional maps, enemies and shooting. The gun play in this game is very good but it's fragmented and interrupted by pointless stuff like driving from A to B to activate C, and talking with people that aren't interactive, or have no integration with the story, and that's my biggest gripe. Rage feels like the studio are out to prove they can do something different but it's ultimately too clinical and misses the point.

I'm very interested to see what PC modders do with this game, because the fundamentals are there.
