Im not one to complain but... seriously

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 1:29 am

Whenever I'm inside somewhere (INSIDE ONLY), as I look at people the camera becomes very jumpy like I'm trying to lock on to them. It only happens inside places, never outside. If someone could try this out or provide me a solution I'd appreciate it very much. This is really annoying, and unbearable.

Jumpy like you're trying to lock on? You can't lock on in Skyrim

In what respect? Can you liken it to another game that does utilise a lock feature?

Some info from you might help us. Are you in first person or zoomed out. Does this happen near walls with hangings that might be forcing the camera closer to you and then further away when you turn. You say look at ppl, do you mean putting them in the center of the screen or just when ever they enter your field of view.

I don't think i was clear. It's this annoying thing that happens when im inside somewhere. If I'm in a house for example with other people, as I move my head around looking at them, the camera jumps slightly back and forth as if it was trying to lock on or something. Now if I was in that house ALONE with no npc's, if I were to then look around the camera would move smooth as butter.

1st person, and yes field of view. I think it may be auto aim, but just not as smooth as normal auto aim.

Are you on PS3? I have issues with my camera and other things being jumpy. That really is the best way to describe it. You either seen it or you havent. It seems to happen when my PS3 has been on for a while. I have to turn it off over night then it goes back to normal.

Xbox here, but ya just jumpy random screen jumping. It's subtle but highly noticable to someone who doesn;t always run around jumping in games.

How old is your XBOX? I was thinking I was having this issue due to my PS3 being 5 years old but I havent gotten around to buying a new one to see if that is the problem. I also have other newer games that seem to have this issue every once in a while.

Can't be just the game, I play Skyrim on XBox and I haven't experienced this problem. Then again, I haven't experienced half the problems others seem to have so maybe I'm just lucky.

Have not seen the issue you describe. Try the software issues forum xbox 360 sub forums to see if you can get the help you need.

Good luck.

I feel like I may have experienced what the OP is describing.

It wasn't really anything that bothered me too much, so I kinda just ignored it, but there were a couple moments when gaming tonight that I'd be looking up and down, and the camera would have a slight jump when I stopped. I didn't notice it really persisting though.

Ah yes, I believe I know what youre talking about, well I'm not sure I'm going to be clear, but here I go: the camera is put behind the characters right shoulder and stay there, given the right distance. If at some point another object/npc/pillar gets in it way, the camera automatically approaches the character to avoid missing him, in example you can never hide your character behind a pillar, for the camera will come closer focusing on the char and put the pillar on the cameras back... Yeah it was like this back in Oblivion, doesn't annoy me much but yeah its a common feature.

I think you are talking about "stutter". There is also "micro stutter". This happens when there is a lot going on the screen at one time. Or something like a heat issue from playing for long periods of time. You get the smooth camera when alone, because there are less NPC to render.

This pain in the butt, bug is very prominent in the opening screens when you are riding into Helgen. If you look to the left, when you pass close to the rocks, the game will stutter.

He experienced the problem in first person, not third
