Can anyone clarify what the "not sell/buy" toggle in the faction vendor options is supposed to do? I haven't found any docs on it so far (if there are docs available I'd appreciate a pointer).

The merchant tutorial on the CK wiki didn't mention it, and after going through the tutorial I found that my merchant didn't work unless it was checked (both buying and selling tabs were empty in the game).

TIA for any info.

It determines whether the "Buy/Sell List" on the faction is things he WILL buy/sell or things he WON'T buy/sell.

Oh so it's like a boolean not. Thanks so much! I selected "VendorItemsMisc" as the vendor type and both buying and selling tabs were empty until I clicked that. I should update the wiki.

Edit: In other news, I'm incredibly dumb. I just looked up the vendor items lists in the CK and they are just formlists containing keywords. The keywords in VendorItemsMisc? VendorNoSale and VendorItemKey. No wonder Belethor uses "not VendorItemsMisc" as his item filter.
