Not understanding "extra effect" perk

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 9:50 am

Hey everybody, i just recently got 100 smith and enchanting and I wanted to try out the extra effect perk which is supposed to allow you to enchant 1 item twice. So I went and I put 40% archery bonus enchant on my helm, then I went to enchant it a second time like the perk says and my helm is not longer enchantable, can anybody help me understand this or is it a bug.

You have to select both enchantments at the same time.
1) Pick Item
2) Pick enchantment #1, Pick enchantment #2
3) Pick soul gem
4) Profit

No, mostly.

You can find the enchantment for Resist Magic in random gear and then from the Shield of Solitude you can get a second different Resist Magic enchantment.

Also, there's Fiery Soul Trap that can be added to a weapon along with Fire Damage.

Edit : According to the UESP.net list of enchantments, there are also two versions of Absorb Stamina and Absorb Magicka.

Finally I know why I got two 'different' magic resists in my enchantments list. THX!

One of them seems to be slightly more powerful, cause one shows 8% resist (depending on my current enchantment skill), the other 9%. Maybe that's why they are different.

Getting help should be what the forums are for :)

I believe the one from the Shield is slightly more powerful. But even with both Resists on one item, it still caps out at 85%.
