Not Updating?

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 8:01 am

Hello,

I installed NV about 2 weeks ago and haven't seen anything to suggest that the game has been patched. I can't seem to find any where in the steam client which allows you to choose the patches, so i can only assume that it is supposed to happen automatically. I've looked in update history and there's nothing there either.

Anyone help me out?

Last update was exactly two weeks ago. If you installed it on the ninth or later there won't have been any patches.

Check the FalloutNV.exe in Windows Explorer and see if the version number is 1.2.0.285. You can check it just by hovering the mouse over it for a few minutes.

The version number is 1.0.0.0

I guess it hasn't updated at all.

Go into your Steam "library" section, right click on Fallout New Vegas and choose Properties. Second tab is "updates", make sure "always keep this game up to date" is chosen. If it wasn't, choose it and then restart Steam if necessary to get it to start the download.

Yeah, it's been set to 'always update' since i installed it. Such a shame the patch can't be downloaded manually.

Weird. And you're logged into your account?

Can you try the option to verify the file integrity?

edit: Maybe we'll get lucky and the updates are disabled because Steam is busy settting up the new patch release?

Just logged out and in again to steam. Did the verify thing a few hours ago after a CTD.

I've heard something about another patch coming out soon, so fingers crossed. Although i've not been having any problems accept the CTD today, but i don't want to end up with broken quests and vanishing items etc.
