Nothing new, another CTD thread

I've owned this game since release. Before the latest patch, I was getting a ridiculous number of CTD's all at seemingly random points, at least 4 an hour. Since the patch, the frequency of these crashes has been reduced, but I still get one approximately every hour of playtime. I'd really like to eliminate them completely, if possible. I have noticed that they seem to occur most frequently when I'm either exiting an interior location, or exiting a container. I do not use Avira Antivir PE V5. I do not have FFDSHOW on my computer, or any codec packs that did not come with a clean install of Win 7 (at least not that I'm aware). I believe I have all of the latest drivers installed for all my devices. Any help would be appreciated, and please let me know if you need any other information.

Unfortunately that may actually be within the normal range of playtime for people who have done everything they can do on their end to make the game run more stably. That is not so say it should be considered acceptable though.

The only other thing I can suggest besides offering a live sacrifice to the daemon of video games and praying that the next patch is more stable is to try one of the nVidia driver versions released just prior to 260.99. Some people have experienced significantly worse stability with 260.99 than they have with the slightly earlier release. Going back to an older release than the one or two previous ones is not nescessarily helpful though as those drivers seemed to have rather poor interaction with the game engine in Windows 7.

One other thing I figured I'd throw in there that I noticed recently. There is an odd graphics glitch that occurs a minute or two before the crash. A texture or portion of a texture seems to get corrupted somehow. Instead of it's normal color, it is pure white. I'll have to get FRAPs and post up a screenshot.

Rivatuner or GPU-Z are utilities you can use to test your card and to check temps.

Nope, it's not that, I used a stress testing program on my video card very recently and it passed with flying colors. No problems with the card on any other games, including Fallout 3.
