I now don't have sound : Othor Games

I was just playing multiplayer, and all of a sudden the sound cut out and won't come back. I made sure all my drivers are up to date because yesterday a video rendering issue developed. In stead of smoke and muzzle flash, or dust from bullet strikes, all I get are black or blue squares.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 ghz
Windows 7 64 bit
4 g ram
NVidia Geforce 9600m GT

Try turning off all VOIP options, some people have said doing so fixed any sound loss.

Voip options do nothing to fix the sound issue

JUST HAPPENED --> I was in Freeplay multiplayer I had perfect sound one map... Map switched... Then I only heard rain drops next map... Went 20 mins hearing nothing but rain but still won. Just rebooted let's see if that gets the game sounds back...

(Also in Freeplay my entire pc locks up 1/5 times and only a hard reboot solves this. Solo campaign play no problems....)

Same thing happened to me (often)... while I'm playing, the sound cut offs!

I have to exit the current multiplayer game and re-enter to fix the problem.

Yeah exiting the multiplayer game and sound comes back immediately in the server list lobby area .. Lost sound 3 times today so far...

This is also very likely to happen on the Refuel map.

And turning off VOIP does not help restore sound at times when sound is lost. Tried that suggestion. Still can just hear rain, only on some maps and only on Freeplay.

I have had an issue with sound only on Refuel, disable VIOP and turn of music if possible, reboot/restart game and give it a shot, try other maps first, I would play Refuel only if you really love that map and can't resist lmfao.

I have tried to look into this, fortunately once I disabled music and VIOP I haven't been able to recreate the issue, I also recall one time I had a sound incident I had WMP in the background, not on, but there, sooo, yeah, there may have been a specific condition, unfortunately, I haven't been able to recreate, so it's just a theory, :banghead:

I get it randomly on nearly any map. Not sure what causes it but either I leave the server to get sound back or play the round out in silent mode knowing that the next round sound will return.
