NPC Class Scaling?

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 7:08 pm

Some of the classes you can choose for NPCs don't seem to be scaling correctly when you set them to level with the player. Most notably the warrior 1H class. I've tried this on multiple new NPCs at level 50 and they get swatted down by the weakest of enemies. Is anyone else having similar issues?

Bump. It seems this is happening with all classes actually.

For some reason they work at first but will revert back to what seems like their lowest level after saving. None of my new NPCs work right because of this.

It isn't really a bug, just a game immersion/balance choice that Bethesda made. Unique actors are designed to have their skills fixed at the level they're at when the player first encounters the NPC. If you want to change this behavior, the community has already found various methods of forcing an NPC's skills to recalculate to match their level and class--disable/enable, setrace, etc.

oh. so just giving unique actors a fixed (high) level would solve the matter? at least for enemies?

does this problem arise for followers as well, who possibly don't level up appropriately?
