NPC discoloured head issue

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 7:17 am

Just wondered if there is any way round the issue with NPCs' heads becoming discoloured when you alter hairstyle/facial hair/add warpaint within the actors menu?

Some NPCs I've created seem ok, yet some have a discoloured head in the game which is a very dark grey/green colour, yet their bodies remain the colour they should be?? (their heads show the correct colour when viewed within the CK)

This has just happened with an NPC I've created. Is there any way of reversing this effect within the CK without me having to delete the NPC and start all over again, as after trying to change the hairstyle/beard etc. back to defaults his head still remains a dark grey colour in the game.

Just happened to me when I added a beard to an NPC I created. Gonna svck if I have to recreate his inventory unless there's a way around this bug. Figures that creating different looking NPC's would be bugged in the Creation Kit...sigh

I don't know whether it just seems to happen with certain races of NPCs as well, as I created 2 elves and an Imperial without any problems, yet there were problems when creating a Redguard & a Breton. I can't just put a helmet on the affected ones and hope no-one will notice lol

It's a known bug, however it's been acknowledged by Bethesda. Check the Unofficial Bug topic for more information.

Is there a fix for this or workaround mate? I'm making a redguard now and she looks ill :(

I'd check the topic. If I recall the workaround has something to do with editing current NPCs. Apparently the bug is only on new NPCs? Don't quote me read the thread.

No matter what I do I can't do what I intend. I'm not making a new NPC you see I'm changing existing ones. I've even tried duplicating Redguard NPCs and choosing to base the traits of my editing NPC off of them. Still nada.

Probably just have to wait til it's fixed lol.
