NPCs fight the dragon back! frustrating! :-(

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 5:46 am

i have visited Falkreath three time so far and every time a dragon appears and attacks the town! not hard to put it down with the guards all around...
the thing i don't understand is why these puny citizens keep fighting back and don't simply run for their lives?!

in three attacks the town lost three citizens, two quests were failed, and two shops officially closed :-( ... it's just crazy!

I hate it when that happens. And I have seen it.

Some civilian without any armor or buffs will run up and start punching the Dragon.

I have no idea either. It's stupid :/

But on the upside, it adds to replayability :D Your next character will have access to new quests

Lol I find it gives me the motivation needed to destroy the dragon before the citizens die lol. But it can get a little hard at times... Meh roll with the blows.

Suggestion: Reverse PP high levelled armour with fire/frost resistance enchantments on them onto villagers. even enchanted Steel armour can go a long way ;)

I feel ya on this one. I can't count how many times I had to load outside of Riften or Riverwood due to one of the NPCs. The guards I care less about but, shopkeepers are where it hits me.

If you fast travel to Falkreath when that happens, stop. I got sick and tired of dragon attacks in Falkreath and Riften (though fortunately most of the citizens survived), then I practically stopped using fast travel. Much better.

That's why in my new game I don't plan on playing past the Bleak Falls Barrow mission until I've done absolutely everything else I want to in the game. I'll just leave the Dragonstone there and come back for it later.

Dragons don't spawn in the wilderness until you've completed the Dragon Rising quest. Which should save my NPC's.

btw in Oblivion cities were protected by walls and no gates ever opened in towns or villages, besides quest-givers were immortal and just got unconscious... they could at least do the same thing in Skyrim :stare:

By wilderness I just meant in Skyrim. Before the Dragon Rising quest they only appear at the actual word walls I believe.

Once a dragon killed Alvor and his wife, I pretty much adopted the daughter.

She didn't seem very sad though...

This happened to me on my last save as well. Killed poor Faendal as well, picked him up in it's mouth and tossed him about like a ragdoll..

That little girl just stood by her fathers forge all day, nobody in the town even had the decency to move his body, it just lay there for months.

Not even there. They are nowhere to be found before that quest, which gives me the possiblity of playing non-dragonborn characters.Yay!

I think the dragons should have some sort of fear "aura" about them to at least make regular civilians run and shop keepers. I mean if A dragon came swarming down from the sky and attacked my town. We wouldn't run out and start wacking. We'd run like hell.

But on another not since I'm a mage if the citizens start attacking I cast some Fear spells to subdue them. My bounty goes up but it saves the quests.

I like it when they ask to dovahkiin to do something small, like remove a pack of wolves for them, but when a dragon comes by, they try to take it on single handedly with their fists.

Rely? I've had this happen in other cities, but not Falkreath.

Yesterday I was in Falkreath and a Dragon attacked. The Guard yelled 'everyone, get inside!' and they all did. Dragon killed, no casualties. Then all of the people came out of their houses to stare at me absorb the dragons soul.

But in places like Dawnstar and Morthal, I've lost some citizens who were bravely defending their homes.
