Nvidia gtx 560ti issue with skyrim

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 2:48 pm

Hello all,

Let me describe my weird problem with my gtx 560ti. So i installed skyrim, and the game was kinda laggy. I updated my card with the latest whql drivers, started skyrim and it was running smooth as butter. No lag,no problems. Here comes the ploblem, the next day, that i started my computer,i opened skyrim and it was like on the beggining, laggy and buggy, just as if i hadnt install the newest drivers. I checked my driver version at the nvidia control panel, and it was the newest one. Really weird in my opinion.. I did the whole proccess again from the beggining(install again newest drivers, game running smooth with 60 fps constantly, and after i restarted my pc,it was laggy etc.

I would really aprecciate if you guys could help me.

sorry for my bad english

What are your system specs? Any mods? Other processes running while playing skyrim

system specs are

asus gtx560ti
asus p8z68 v
8 gb ram vengeance 1600
intel i2500k
and a 750ww corsair psu.

I dont really think its caused by a mod because it was happening from the beggining that i installed the game.
I use some armor mods,a water mod and the fxaa injection mod.
I have tried tesv acceleration mod but it was the same.

Hm other proccesses,i guess its only steam and the antivirus.

Would it help if i unistall the current drivers,do a check with drivesweeper in safe mode, and then install the drivers again?

It wouldnt do any harm mate.

Might also be worth trying a Clean Boot if that doesn't solve it.

I'm using the exact same card and havn't noticed any of these problems.

It may be something else. I read somewhere that the game uses your CPU to render most of the stuff in Skyrim.

Οk its seems that i solved it,i unistalled asus gpu tweak and asus gameosd, and now the game is smooth with 60 fps always. I guess those 2 programms where svcking some memory or something.

I have pretty close to the same rig aside mobo and GPU I found that using Simple Borderless Window mod fixed all my issues. I had that smooth one day stuttering the next type of issue kind of like you said which I think is more CPU than GPU.
