NVSE Problem : erratic / slow mouse firing

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:28 am

Hello all, first post/Im new :)

I was directed here in the hope someone could help me..... please :)

I have tried searching various places and I seem to be alone, the only reference I found to my problem was on another website and they were running FO3 not NV. The topic is locked so I can't easily determine if NVSE is at the root of their problem too.

The title of my post describes my problem almost in its entirety but I will go into more detail.

It took me a while to figure out it was in fact NVSE causing the problem, at first I was convinced it was a mod conflict (disabled them all, problem persisted) then I thought it may be a main game install problem but before I went through with a full reinstall I disabled/deleted NVSE and problem went away and came back again when I reactivated/reinstalled it.

If I remap 'fire' to a key on the keyboard it is fine (even with NVSE enabled) but remapping to any button on the mouse makes 'fire' act all screwy, its as though it only picks up about 25% of my clicks... the faster I tap the mouse the worse the problem becomes (to the point sometimes where I click 10 times really fast and it doesn't fire even once.).

I have a USB mouse but a PS2 keyboard so this may have something to do with it.

NVSE seems to be working fine in every other way, mods which rely upon it are working ok and it would be a shame not to use it as it allows some good mods which I have gotten quiet used to :)

any help much appreciated.

Same here, I never thought it might be nvse though, I thought it was just a peculiarity of fallout 3 and NV. I've remapped the mouse fire button to the keyboard as well because of this. The next playthrough I'll do without nvse for a while and see if things are still the same.

nice to know I am not alone at least :)

with me it definitely is NVSE or at least NVSE ''brings out'' the problem for some reason. If you time it correctly in my case it is possible to make the guns fire almost (if not) as fast as they should but once you start hammering fast it's almost as though it works in reverse and is detrimental to firing speed rather than just sticking at '' fire as fast as possible'' ?:)
