No. There's no contest. Skyrim is superior to Oblivion in every way.

but seriously that's like stating as a fact that pancakes are better than waffles. It's all your opinion, if you like Oblivion more
than go play it.

Gonna have to go with Skyrim.

Loved Oblivion, but the graphics are much better in Skyrim, better MQ IMO as well. In Oblivion it was focused too much on closing gates. Repetitive.

I thought the DB/Fighter's Guild quests were better in Oblivion though.

Each game has areas where it is better than the other. All are great games.

No it isn't. Oblivion's quests were far superior, as well as still having things like spellmaking, acrobatics, and yes even athletics.

I don't want to start a war...but Oblivion in way worst than Skyrim....I think that SKYRIM vs FALLOUT:NV might provide a good challenge.BUT SKYRIM >>>>>>OBLIVION.

Skyrim has better gameplay.

Oblivion has better writing.

Both games are good.

Skyrim does the world and level design better, but loses in some gameplay mechanics and most quest, especially questlines. Oblivion's major malfunction was it's level scaling, Skyrim's is it's UI. Both hinder playability, but Oblivion's does so more while Skyrim's has already been fixed by mods. And most importantly Skyrim doesn't run on the Performansicide CRASH engine that Oblivion does.

So i have to say that overall Skyrim wins for me when it comes to unmodded game, can't say anything about expanded or modded one for quite a while now

Oblivion better than Skyrim? Oblivion is my favourite TES (because it was my first TES, I later played Morrowind and now Skyrim). I prefer some things that Oblivion did and I prefer some things that Skyrim does.

WAFFLES!!! END OF DISCUSSION!!!

Seriously though, Morrowind and Oblivion will always have special places in my heart, but from a gameplay standpoint Skyrim is vastly superior to Oblivion, just like Oblivion was to Morrowind, et cetera. Story may be a different matter, but that also sums up to pie vs cake.

There are some constructive discussions in the Elder Scrolls General forum. Please use one of those.
