Oblivion map maker = Natalia Drovovan Skyrim Cartographer =

so did beth mess up on the map and spell the name wrong for skyrim ? or do they really expect us to believe that 2 diff people of the same family with nearly identical same name took up the same career ?

This has been talked about several times. The consensus appears to be that Skyrim's cartographer may be a descendant of Oblivion's cartographer.

It seems to me that 'Nataly' might just be a shortened version of 'Natalia'
kinda like 'Chris' and 'Christopher'

Probably the same person drew both maps in reality, but since Skyrim is set 200 years after Oblivion it couldn't be the exact same person in universe.

Well he also dabbled in some pretty interesting stuff and has been to the realms of mehrunes dagon and azura, so who knows what sort of power he was bestowed (particularily his races patron god azura).

The family name Hlaalu still exists, and im sure there were others that lived as long as Fyr did. I wonder if he also maybe mastered corpus and was able to live as long as he did without the horrible side effects like the last surviving dwemer had.
