I got the Fallout New Vegas Collector's Edition and it 80$ + Fallout New Vegas Collector's Edition Official Strategy Guide 35$! 80$ + 35$ = 115$ So didn't spend 115$ for a game i can't play! That my Hard Earned Cash!

Obsidian and Bethesda "WE" I Said "WE" "We are not your beta testers! We are the Customers and this should have "BEEN FIXED BEFOR RELEASE" Not after! We know your working hard or not on this Patch that shouldn't be "NEEDED"! Im not try to start any thing but this is unbelievable! Were are your beta testers? I don't know how most of the big bugs were missed! AS I SAY Again We are not your beta testers! We are the Customers! And you need to git this patch OUT A.S.A.P."

Thank you! :fallout: :banghead:

Why does it matter if the game is buggy if the patches are...

...free.

Yeah, it should have been put through different testing, but it wasn't.
So just deal with it until the patch comes out (which they have to wait for Sony's approval).

When the patch comes out and the game is still buggy, THEN you complain.

And you shouldn't rush them.

Rushed patch equals nothing fixed.

Slow patch equals more things are noticed and more carefully fixed.

Everyone stop complaining.
This game is huge.
Huge equals more space for bugs.
Huge equals really hard testing.

The game is far from unplayable.

Bethesda said they are working on a patch, so give it some time.

It's not a small patch either.

Not in my case
I finally figured out which hat to put on so the vegas strip would load
played another couple of hours then as I was walking to the gate to the lucky 38, I stopped to talk to the performer guy on the left
The console locked, reboot the PS3 and when it goes to load, it freezes on the billboard loading screen.
if I try to manually load the auto save then it goes through that screen, says loaded successfully, then when it goes to the billboard loading screen it freezes
every single time
now my only choice I guess is to go back and try loading the most recent manual save and re-play 2+ hours of the game
because the game was released with BUGS

manually save often with multiple files people!

so yeah, in this case, the bug made it UNPLAYABLE.

This /\

I can barely stop playing this game. :celebration:

It surely beats the heck out of R*...a game where 1/3 of it is running a cattle farm. Really?

Sure there are bugs, but as long as they do what is needed to fix said bugs, including not rushing things, I'll be happy with it.

Truth be told, I'm happy with it now.

Well it matters because I cannot even complete the game because of a companion glitch.

It matters because we payed money for a working product, not for a broken product that would be partially fixed over time.

Honestly, they should have just pushed the release back. This is pitiful.

If you beat this game you will run into countless bugs. I'm not talking about little ones here and there, I am talking about constant skips, freezes, and bugs that make progression in the story line impossible.

With all due respect, he paid $115 for the deal and whilst the extra bonuses is his/her choice you can not fault the complaint. I'm guessing from your response you've hardly experienced many bugs -likewise for the rest of the people agreeing - I'd be extremely angry if I spent a whole weekends wages to find myself restarting/resetting/renewing the game. Combine that with the ironic FO3 forgetfulness to save -concerning those who switched off Auto-save to decrease slowness - and you get a very frustrated customer. He does have a point, I should point out that whilst the more popular the game the higher the population of those finding bugs I find it disheartening that on the day of the release there was quite a significant amount of horrible bugs which aren't even release-standard as well as the quantity that it has gotten rife with. I've seen NPC's in-situ with what should be a solid parameter object, that is in my opinion quite awful.

Defending the harrowing account of some glitches by saying the game is big is rather pointless, I hate using anologies but you simply can not defend this game's bugs by saying it's too big to test. It wouldn't be a rushed patch because a normal standard of release would only have small accounts of freezes, etc. And given that FO3 should have been a benchmark for those programmers correcting past faults and including them into the NV system, there is no excuse.

While I understand that from your perspective, one where your game is almost flawless and I am pleased to hear you are enjoying it, it is difficult to say to someone on the other extreme to wait when said person has paid $115.

umm most of the bugs i've encountered ARE gamebreaking as in freezing the game and requiring a hard reboot of the ps3, which is a VERY dangerous thing to do...so stop complaining about people complaining. Not everyone has a "perfect" almost bugfree copy of the game

I really hate to break it to you, but the problem with freezing is engine based. You know what you can do about a buggy engine? You certainly can't replace it. You can't fix a crippling engine problem. Go ahead and search up every game that got called back or was deemed unplayable because of an engine problem. You'll see that nothing could be done about it. You can relieve the pressure by fixing things around the game that might make it freeze less, but you can't stop constant freezing....unles you own the PC version. In that case, they can have a rewritten engine out to players without much change.

The Havoc engine has been known to be incredibly crappy for some developers. Which is why you see fewer and fewer games running with the engine. Otuside of pure FPS games, the engine has a terrible flaw. It can't take the load of having an advanced game built around it. This problem will probably get better for PC users, but for console players, fat chance.

I've done quite a bit of research into this. I know this will never get fixed. It may be fixed to the point where game freezes happen every two or three hours rather than every hour or so, but it'll never go beyond that. I'm not ruining my console because a game crashes my system. You're telling everybody to stick with it. It's free to patch a game. However, getting a new PS3 or Xbox 360 is expensive after a catastrophic failure because of a game you played froze your console to many times. Your advice is horrible. You're asking people to put their systems in danger because it'll "Get better". Get a clue man. Playing a crappy game to wait is not worth spending a few hundred bucks buying a new system.

:Edit:

BTW, console makers don't have to replace your console because of a problem such as this. The general consensus is that if you continue to stick a game into your console that crashes you system, it's due to player fault, not system fault. So if you lose your console to this, expect to go out and buy a shiny new console to replace it.

Umm, many MMOs are tested and tested in the same time given to console developers. You know what the difference between MMOs on the PC and console rpgs are? PC based MMO are generally three to four times bigger and have three to four times more content than console rpgs upon release. If 90% of PC MMOs can be tested fervently and all game breaking bugs removed in the same time that it takes a console to test and release, then there is something wrong there.

Let's also add in another factor. MMO are meant to be played online. This means that there is infinitely more code to write to make the game playable. If a PC developer can put out a game in alpha that does not have gamebreaking bugs, a console can to. The problem with console is they cannot go over their release date without having some form of penalty. Which is why they shove broken games out so much. They do so so they can get their game to market to compete for a seasonal advantage. Let us take a look at Duke Nukem Forever. The game has been in development for 10 FREAKIN YEARS! The reason why? Because they want to release a cutting edge game without problems. They're not trying to make a buck. They're trying to put out the best possible product to consumers. Fallout has not done that in quite some time. As a matter of fact, most Bethesda retro remakes still remain broken till this very day. Let's see, Oblivion has been out for how many years now? 5 or 6? Nothing has been done to fix the freezing problems with it.

So before you go saying that they did their best and have our fears in mind; look at their track record. Most of their former games are still broken and will continue to remain broken after several years after release. They pushed the game out to meet the deadline so they wouldn't have to take a blow to income. Staying in development takes money after your release date has come and gone. They're out for money, as long as they have that, they don't give a crap. They may release fixes for many things, but the crashes won't stop. They are impossbile to fix. Therefore, they've played the game with consumers that many others have before them. Make great games, have people buy them, release crap because people will buy them in hopes that they won't be broken like the last one. Face it, this will be Fallout all over again. Nothing will be done because nothing can be done.
