I'm talking about the way the DLC releases for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas have been handled.
We all know Bethesda developed and published Fallout 3, but only published Vegas, the development of which was by Obsidian.
It seems to me that there's a world of difference in the care and attention paid to the release methods of FO3 and NV DLC.
With Fallout 3, DLC was announced well in advance of release, official trailers were made for each piece of DLC which were then extensivley distributed across PSN/Xbox Live, youtube, game websites etc .... and crucially .... each DLC's official trailer ended with ..... guess what? A RELEASE DATE, which proved to be accurate.
With New Vegas, we get very short trailers, which don't seem to have been promoted or distributed half as well as the FO3 ones. When a trailer does appear, it doesn't seem to have been pushed by Obsidian or Bethesda ... the OWB trailer seems to have been made by a voice actress with several parts in the DLC ... it doesn't really appear to be official. Crucially, the Vegas DLC trailers do not end with a release date. In fact, we're supposedly only days from the release of OWB and they still can't/won't lell us when it's coming out!
Conclusion: FO3 DLC was handled professionally, Vegas DLC has been handled amateurishly so far.
Am I the only one frustrated with this? :brokencomputer:
