Obsidian's Object Palettes

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:01 am

Obsidian/Bethesda,

When Fallout3 was released, Bethesda created a number of video tutorials on YouTube to help explain how to use the GECK. One of these was specifically on how to use the Object Palette, and gave us a dozen or so sample palettes for us to use and level design with. Over the course of several years I released a set of my own palettes as have other people, and all of those were seeded by Bethesda's original palettes.

Of course those palettes won't work with the New Vegas GECK, and I was curious if a base-set for New Vegas was due to be released? If so, I would like to request some. :)

If not that's fine, we'll work towards producing a new set as a community.

Thanks!

The OPAL files do work. I copy pasted mine over and they work fine. They just kick back an error when one of the items isn't in the FNV-Geck, Just a small error no crashes.

So you can just use the ones from Fo3 and add in some of the new items yourself.

So far as I can see the GECK is 95% the same. The biggest differences that I can see is they didn't use very good naming conventions for the object window.

You actually got an error? I haven't seen a single one. I am starting to actually miss the GECK complaining about everything like Fallout 3 did.

And I feel so stupid. I watched the tut but it never clicked how useful it is.
