[Spoilers] Odahviing wont land - The Fallen glitch.

[Spoilers ahead, potentially. Although i would assume most people would have done mq by now...]

In the middle of The Fallen mission.

Need to summon Odahviing for the first time. Ive done it successfully in a previous save game but now its not working, and im experiencing problems that many others seem to have; unfortunately there doesnt seem to be a fix for it.

I wait for the Jarl, in his seat, to ask me if im ready. I say yes. We all go out to the balcony. I delay calling for long enough so that people can get in position (like that makes a difference, but just to be certain) and once the jarl says something i do the shout.

Now most people seem to ask the UTTERLY rediculous question: "are you sure you are doing the whole shout". Yes. Obviously. Im not [censored].

I do the whole shout, the dragon comes, but he doesnt stop and fight like he should (doesnt even do what i assume is a scripted attack dive on the poor guard on the balcony) and i can only watch him fly off in a straight line, high up, into the distance.

Things ive done to get around it:

1. Reload.

2. Reload older game.

3. Shout from different locations/at different times of day/after different periods of time after everyone goes to position.

4. Ive even toggled collision and flown around to watch him spawn or whatever with no effect.

5. Ive successfully cast Dragonrend on him as he's flown off into the distance, but he seems to ignore it and keep flying (ive not seen an account of anyone with this glitch successfully aiming a Dragonrend on him from such a far distance away; atleast im breaking new ground on the bug-fix road).

Unlike previous ES titles ive not invested ANY time in investigating the quest ID's so i havent had success finding an account of a way to just console through the quest to a good point to avoid it. And good searches online have failed to bring up any solutions other than "wait for Beth to patch it"; which is utterly unacceptable..

Ideas dudes?

1) Uninstall any and all mods, making sure to remove all their files completely (especially scripts).
2) Verify your files via Steam
3) Reload an older save and test it.
If 3 fails, reload that save again and then go somewhere safe and wait out the reset period of 31 in-game days.

"Reset period of 31 ingame days" ? This is a thing?

Mkay thanks. Fix would be nice, but looks like the hard way is the only way.

Try holding longer on your mouse when you click the shout for him. Strange but it worked for me after battling the very same issue for months. When I clicked my mouse for the shout, I held down on it, then whala-he landed.
