Odd Door Problem

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 6:14 pm

After creating a small dungeon and then trying to connect it to the world using the Tutorial instructions, I find the Door to my dungeon showing as "ENTER MARKED STORAGE UNIT". Does anyone know how or why? The door does work as it's supposed to, it just says the above. Thanks.

In the CK if you go to Cell View window, find your cell, right click and select Edit a window will appear. In the window towards the top is tabs, go to the Interior Data Tab. In the tab, at the top, is text box titled Name, you can enter a new name there. Also while on the topic, I'd like to add something else that I recently discovered sort of involving names on doors. (I'm new to modding myself lol) When you change a name like this, any door that involves teleporting in the same cell will show the same name. So if you are making an interior area, like a dungeon, that involves teleporting through a door way to another part of the dungeon in the same cell that door will have the same name. Not sure if that makes sense but for an example: You change the name how I just instructed, when you go to the door to enter your dungeon that name will appear instead of "Marked Storage Unit". In that same interior cell of the dungeon, say you set up another door to teleport to another part of the dungeon, that door will have the same name you gave you exterior door with no way to change it, as far as I know. So if you want to split up a dungeon into numerous parts, make the other parts in a new cell so you can name that door, if you want. Keep in mind, I'm new at modding, but this is just my personal experience!

Hope some of that made sense, just trying to help you not make the same mistake I did. I made a dungeon called Viticus' Chamber. I had the name changed to appear properly. I made a section part of my dungeon in the same cell and set up a door to teleport betwen the two sections. I wanted to change that door to the new of the section part of the dungeon, "Viticus' Tomb" to represent a new part of the dungeon. However, I couldn't because the door was in the same cell as the initial 'Viticus' Tomb'. I don't know if there is a way to change that but I haven't found a way yet ><
